There is no empirical or scientific proof for the existence of an immaterial soul. Mainstream science and neuroscience view consciousness, thoughts, and emotions as the product of physical brain activity and biological processes.
Antidepressants alter brain chemistry by changing how specific chemical messengers (neurotransmitters) are processed in the space between nerve cells, gradually shifting how the brain responds to emotions and stress.
Painkillers (analgesics) do not "hunt down" or cure the source of pain. Instead, they travel through your bloodstream and interrupt the chemical or electrical signals that tell your brain you are hurt.
Brain chemicals, known as neurotransmitters and neuromodulators, are chemical messengers that allow nerve cells (neurons) to communicate across tiny gaps called synapses. They control everything from thinking and movement to mood and sleep.
A product of the brain as explained. Happiness a product of the brain, any emotion a product of the brain.
When you're brain dies you die.
When my brain is cremated when I die there will be nothing left of 'me'
'Me' is a grey blob in my skull.

Mammals and Birds-
All mammals and birds possess the neurological structures necessary for conscious experience.
Vertebrates and Invertebrates-
Recent scientific evaluations suggest a realistic possibility of conscious experience across all vertebrates (including fish, reptiles, and amphibians) and many invertebrates, such as cephalopods (octopuses and squid), decapod crustaceans (crayfish and crabs), and even certain insects like bees.
Behaviors and Emotion-
Research shows that animals feel pain, fear, pleasure, and stress. For example, elephants mourn deceased calves, cleaner wrasse recognize themselves in mirrors, and crayfish show anxiety-like behavior that decreases with anti-anxiety medication.
