Just wondering what I did THIS time! lol...help?

I guess not every system is perfect. :(
I had a time when it came and went. And I sometime get 'Soandso' quoted your post...but when I click on it it wasn't my post that the person was answering! :D

Hopeful it will re-fix itself.
You only other choice is to click "New Posts" up top in the black bar.

One of those numbers is for your "alerts". Once you click on the alerts to look at them the number will disappear even if you have not read them all. They are still there, but the number of them is lost. You simply have to remember the number if you wish to go through those alerts.

The same thing is true for the number for your "inbox". It simply tells that you have new personal messages. Once you click on it the number will disappear even if you have not yet read the messages.

Yes amadeus, this I know but when I get the pop-up while reading a thread...when I go to see who alerted...there is no number anymore...even though I hadn't even clicked on it. It doesn't really matter because the new alert is always there anyhow. Thank you!
God bless!

Good one John, I never thought of it maybe being after she had looked at them the first time. :)

I always see the number...then I count down the list until I hit whatever number was showing.
Then I click on each one upward checking where I had been quoted...and I respond...sometimes I have gone from the top downward, but when others keep getting added to the top then I forget my numbers Haha!!

Yes, this is just the way the system works. With only alert it is no problem. I have numbers as high as 15 or 20. When you go into you lose the number. What I do when there are several when I first go is to count from the latest one backwards to the original alert number and mark down the time, date, topic, person. After I read each one and respond, I then go in again to the next one in line. It'll get more complicated if additional alerts are sent to you while you are still addressing the ones you counted the first time.

To avoid this as I am working the newest posts anytime a new alert appears I go to it immediately before the number get higher and complicates the matter.

It may be at times be harder to keep up with than reading and answering the posts themselves.

I often have the same problem keeping track especially if I haven't been online in a long while and the number is high. The worst thing if you lose track of which number you are on is you either skip some or do some more than once.

Agree...thats why I make a note of the "quotes"., so I don't over loo them.

I also check all the "new posts" from the bottom up...because new ones are always added at the top.

I do like the system very much...and when I go to SiT2 I miss the system very much...I never have got on with their set up and navigation there.

Nancy, what's really going on is once you click that first red alert, big brother then takes over and continues to record your life for the end times
Stay away from the coming "666"!!!

He's a modern man with a past.
He's the greatest lover ever known.
I can relate to him.
I sort of look like him too.
No, he's not Don Juan or Casanova.
They are second rate.
This man is my alter-ego.
And he loves to tango just like me.

My type of music.

Indeed, I enjoyed that scene...very poignant.
Here is my all time favorite "poignant" performances. (BTW-this same couple repeats this 30 years later, just as flawlessly IMO. can send ya that vid. if you like.)
