Anybody familiar with "Mirror Bible"....??
I just saw this advertised on a website.
Makes me wonder......
I cannot seem to find anything questionable in the few reviews I have been able to find. It is paraphrased and the verses expanded a bit for clarity I would guess. I did find this:
"The following is from the information section. Bold and Red lettering added for emphasis."

"THE MIRROR TRANSLATION The Mirror Translation is a paraphrased translation from the original text. While strictly following the literal meaning of the original text, sentences have been constructed so that the larger meaning is continually emphasized by means of an expanded text. Some clarifying notes are included in italics. This is a paraphrased study rather than a literal translation. While the detailed shades of meaning of every Greek word have been closely studied, this is done taking into account the consistent context of the entire chapter within the wider epistle, and bearing in mind the full context of Jesus and his finished work, which is what the message of the Bible is all about. © Copyright Francois du Toit 2011 - You are free to copy and to use, but not to alter the text, attribute it to a different source or sell any part thereof. (August 2011)"Why the Mirror Translation" and "Understanding the Bible" documents - see Genesis 1Translated books: Romans, Galatians, Ephesians, Colossians, Hebrews, James.Other portions translated: John 1, 1 Cor.1-9, 2 Peter 1, 1 John 1.Afrikaans: Efesiers.More free books, audio teachings, videos and downloads available at www.mirrorword.net "

Interesting.
I saw somewhere that Jerry Sevalle is promoting this bible.
It sounds like a good one to have for comparison in study. When I first got saved, I started with the KJV. Someone gave me The Living Bible, it was so simple a 1st grader could understand it, lol.

Hearing about this for the first time.

Since they clearly tell you on their web site that it is a paraphrase, everyone should be alert this fact. Paraphrases are interpretations of the Bible text, and if one man is doing the interpreting, then that in itself could become a problem.

Frankly the proliferation of Bible versions is A DETRIMENT, since it leads to conflicting texts and conflicting interpretations. Imagine a Bible study with 20 people and each one having a different Bible version or paraphrase, and each one believing that theirs is the correct translation!

One of the tactics of Satan is to sow spiritual confusion, and what better way to do it than to have a proliferation of Bibles contradicting each other.
