I remember seeing a Bugs Bunny episode as a child...about the Tasmanian Devil. Bugs Bunny looked up the diet of a Tasmanian Devil to see if it included rabbits. It didn't seem to. That is...until the Devil turned the page to a whole chapter entitled...Especially rabbits. :)
We have that same thing going on in 1 Cor. 13.
A whole chapter on love!
Yet if you try to promote this charitable inclination to many Christians...you get a vehement protest. How can things have gotten so bad?
Is it SO difficult to not judge others...to be gracious....to be merciful? To be as children when it comes to assigning evil to others?
Or are we just witch hunters and people who are looking for demons everywhere?
Are we so bent on justifying ourselves that we seek to put others down?
Unfortunately..this is the case. We are confronted with this at every turn. Go to any Christian chat site...and watch the hatred.
Can God's judgment not be expected?
Not feeling the ‘love’ from most people on this site Epi?! If true, there are of course good reasons for it don’t you think? And honestly, I do not believe the reasons are to be found in these series of false or misleading declaration statements and premises you have written thus far in this Thread of Charity?
Statements such as:
“…Yet if you try to promote this charitable inclination to many Christians...you get a vehement protest…”
“…But that is the problem, Too many have simplistic notions about good and bad...that have never stopped eating at the tree of death. (Tree of G and E). The poor judgments that follow are indicative of these false assumptions…”
".. So then those who have no charity in them for others...have never eaten from the tree of life. And this is common…”
”…How many have really had the love of God shed abroad in their hearts? Where is the evidence of that?..”
“…I find that Christians who are misguided...look to unbelievers and prop them selves up by judging them…”
Now how does one handle or respond to this statement below?
“…Those who deny the true nature of the Lord....and say they see....we should have nothing to do with….”
If you really believe you are ‘perfect’ and/ or you are uniquely qualified to know the love of God then I think prayer is in order….
If you believe you are not always understood, I’m 100% sure both our Lord and Saviour knows you. Take comfort in this.
Bless you,
