Start by saying is it really that critical question as long as the basics are met?
It is clear a lot of people do not understand all the things, an example being they define the body of Christ as just as being the Church only.
But the Bible says the body of Christ is Israel and the Church. Two heirs.
Some say it was at Pentecost because that's where the Holy Spirit was first given, but is that true.
When Christ ascended to heaven he took all of the Old Testament saints with him. So they had to be born again.
The Holy Spirit was the agent of his resurrection and the ascension. So these people had received the Holy Spirit and were born again.
Just because the Holy Spirit did not come to living yet does not mean the Church had not begun at the resurrection.
Look at Israel. Israel began when Jacob had his name changed Israel. But he still didn't have any children, so the 12 tribes did not exist yet. But Israel existed.
Nor have they received the Mosaic law. But Israel still existed.
The nation of Israel did not exist until they took the promised land, centuries after Jacob.
Just some food for thought.
So many are dogmatic about the church beginning in Acts 2 while others are dogmatic it began in mid-Acts. Still others after Acts with Paul.
What I'm getting to is what difference does it make to us today exactly when it began?
