So how do you know which dreams are from God, which are your subconscious working things out and nonsense dreams, and which are from the Enemy.

My answer would be..we know, because we know.

I have had about ten in my 55 years as a believer. Haven't had any for a long while now.

But, when it is from God, we don't have to say " Is that from You Lord."
He leaves us in no doubt.

When your mother spoke to you on the phone for 20 mins..did you hang up the phone and say. Was that my mother? No, you knew, because you knew her voice.

We know His voice. :)

If you have to 'wonder' if the dream was from God or not, then I would say, no it wasn't.
Even when we don't quite know everything He was saying in the dream and we maybe need time to pray and listen...there is still the assurance that "God spoke".

Absolutely Helen, I just know in my knower, and I have found that if the message isn't immediately obvious, if I ask it will become clear.

Oh no, I appreciate your input!!!!! This is more for discussing everything about dreams and dreams in the Bible rather then trying to interpret...Im trying to understand them more. When I first came to be opened to the world of dreams, I posted one on CF that stayed with me a very long time that Chris interpreted and brought me here. :) and well, I think I've had God dreams. And a few Hidden has believed so as well. But I am leery of what to say is from God and what isnt. I mean one about Trump happened. He got elected. But the last one that I dont think has happened yet was so frightening, I question the source. In the Bible, Joseph told Pharaoh to save 1/5 of the grain in 7 years of plenty for the 7 years of famine. I'm first questioning, if I did see President Trump winning the election (mind you I knew nothing of politics at the time nor who he was except a business man), and this next one in the second dream I think, and a very disturbing third dream in the middle of the night, is this from God or the Enemy, what am I supposed to do with it, and how do I protect my family.

I am really just writing my thoughts on this. Honestly, I think this is more something I'm bringing to God, and trying to hear His voice on this. Because cant the enemy give the future too? Isnt that what seers and those in witchcraft did? How do I know it is not that? But three dreams on three consecutive nights...if I'm not 100% sure that is from God, could it still be? Maybe if the last two happen, I will know.

Maybe I will ask God to give me a clear as day God dream if He would to clear all my doubts. Because when I read yours, they give a sense of hope and edification. :)

I think obsessing sort of opened a door that has been hard to close. Ive been praying against the spirit of confusion, anxiety, and dreams from the enemy meant to be a stumbling block. I think partly I wonder about dreams that are just my subconscious too and what I can learn from them. Like the golden gate bridge collapsing and tornadoes coming down everywhere.

I'm going to just focus on studying what the Bible can teach me on dreams/visions instead of trying to obsess over my own. I want to pray about them, but it is always on my mind. I'm thinking okay...God can use this too, if I focus more on Him. My focus has been off. Ive been visiting this new church and praying in tongues more often. I just feel the Holy Spirit is working. And studying about this more is what Ive felt lead to do. I'm just sorry. Because I talk about my feelings a lot. :D

I have had apocolyptic dreams lately, but I have had end times on my mind a lot. Like the golden gate bridge collapsing...and Bibles being replaced with universal ones. Weird ones.

The big thing I question is who does the dream glorify and the purpose of God dreams. Id say God dreams are to edify the church/warn the church. While enemy dreams are to confuse/create fear.

I try to take dreams like a grain of salt, but I do pray for interpretation and discernment.
It's good in our waking moments to assess notions that may occur to us from time to time in the light of the Scriptures.

I think God gives us different sorts pf dreams for different reasons; like I sometimes dream about a person I know and wake up and feel I need to pray for them. I once dreamed that the Queen was shot at and I woke and prayed for her. The next day as she rode her horse in the Trooping the Colour parade a man in the crowd opened fire but didn't hit her. It gave me goosebumps. You can probably find an account of that on Google.

Maybe interpretation is the wrong question Ive been asking. Perhaps it is as you Pearl...what spiritual lessons can I learn from my dreams...if a wise man can learn from a fool, how much more can a wise man learn from a dream. Ivw been wanting to know what each little symbol means. But I see now that what I need to ask is what I can learn if anything. Even if I am wrong on what it means, and whether or not it is from God, if I am bringing my focus back to God and my walk with Him, it will relinquish some of that fear I have had. And your dream about the queen Pearl...and the outcome....thanks so much for sharing. California where the golden gate bridge is...this state does need a lot of prayer. As well asour president and this country. I think I see what God is charging me to do now instead of worrying. These were from God!!! Not all, but some...fear has definitely been a cloud over my mind in many areas.

Dreams from God give comfort, guidance and personal guidance.

The do not reveal anything in addition to the Bible prophetically.

They are rare.

Nothing can be added to the Bible. But Revelation does say that old men will have dreams and young men will have visions. That may be a good one to look at too...but I'm sort of looking in the OT right now...Revelation is a tough book...

This one stood out to me from the list tonight... It is the story of Gideon and the 300 men God chose from over 20,000 to get Midian.

The Lord said to Gideon, “I will deliver you with the 300 men who lapped and will give the Midianites into your hands; so let all the other people go, each man to his home.” Now the same night it came about that the Lord said to him, “Arise, go down against the camp, for I have given it into your hands. But if you are afraid to go down, go with Purah your servant down to the camp, and you will hear what they say; and afterward your hands will be strengthened that you may go down against the camp.” So he went with Purah his servant down to the outposts of the army that was in the camp. When Gideon came, behold, a man was relating a dream to his friend. And he said, “Behold, I had a dream; a loaf of barley bread was tumbling into the camp of Midian, and it came to the tent and struck it so that it fell, and turned it upside down so that the tent lay flat.” His friend replied, “This is nothing less than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has given Midian and all the camp into his hand.” When Gideon heard the account of the dream and its interpretation, he bowed in worship. He returned to the camp of Israel and said, “Arise, for the Lord has given the camp of Midian into your hands.”
JUDGES 7:7‭, ‬9‭-‬11‭, ‬13‭-‬15 NASB

Thoughts: This dream was for confirmation to Gideon that God had given Midian into his hands and the 300 men. It was a dream to calm any fears that Gideon had and strengthen his faith. I think I remember the story of Gideon too of the fleece. It is like Gideon had faith to move, but needed confirmation. God was so good to have both chosen Gideon and done this for him. I feel a lot like Gideon as far as wishing for confirmation. Id like to think if God told me something directly like that, I would believe Him.

It's re- quoted in the book of acts , at Pentecost when Peter speaks out. The original quote is from the book of Joel, when he is talking about the last days - I can never remember where quotes are from, but this came up in a discussion recently xx
I am reading a book by Tom Wright called ' Revelation for everyone ' it explains the book in a way that I can relate and understand. I am finding it really interesting xx
