Luke 22:29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;

22:30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

The Lord is appointed a kingdom on earth; the kingdom in which Jesus will reign upon the throne of David (Luke 1:32-33) from Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:3) for a thousand years (Revelation 20:4). Jesus also appointed this kingdom to the twelve apostles.

The Lord's table will be realized when Christ Jesus comes to establish his earthly kingdom.

This table is the fulfillment of the new testament at the coming of the Lord. The new testament will bring Israel into the promised land, cleanse them and cause them to walk in all his commandments (Ezekiel 36:24-28). Israel will be a blessing (Genesis 12:1-3) and a light to the Gentile nations in the kingdom (Isaiah 60:3).

The believing remnant of Israel will be refreshed and will reign and rule with Christ in the Davidic earthly kingdom (Revelation 5:10).

Mat. 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The kingdom of God makes no differentiation between Jew or Gentile. In fact it is they who do so that are subject for dismissal.

@Doug : Have you ever considered that in Luke 22:30, the use of the '12 tribes of Israel' is only imagery language for the disciples to easy grasp what Christ was saying to them? I personally do not believe he meant that in the future there shall be a reemergence of the 12 blood lines of Israel, as one nation again. And would not this unrealistic future idea conflict with all of what Christ and the other apostles preached - there is no differentiation between other Nations and the Judahites/Jews and the other 10 tribes wherever they lived at that time and in the future? Grace to salvation is for all nations and peoples. Blood-lined Israel was divorced from YHWH well before these apostles were born. YHWH conceived and brought a new marriage proposal through his Son, on the Table, that only includes all who are true believers?

The small minority of the apostles of the Kingdom of power and many others of a different majority, shall judge or involve themselves in the affairs of all peoples in the future.

Just something to consider.

Bless you,

Hello
Matthew 19:28 also says they will sit on thrones...so we have 2 passages that don't really mean what they say....so how do we know Christ will come again to sit on his throne....how do we determine what is imagery and where does that stop?

Matt 19:28 has the same meaning as Luke 22:30. By introducing this verse, you therefore just reinforced or reconfirmed what I said in my previous post to you. Christ will come again to sit on his throne, no question there... as others shall share it with him as Rev also supports.

Bless you,

"The kingdom of God makes no differentiation between Jew or Gentile."
For reals Epi!! The "children of God" are those whom have trusted in Him to the fullest. I do believe in degrees. There are degrees in all things pretty much. Some have a higher degree of patients, for instance and so on...So, I'm gonna take a gander here, lol, and say that there are also degrees - spiritually speaking like...the more we want HIM, the more we will submit TO Him. And, once ALL we come to the point of total submission...the more of Him is revealed to us and the more He will trust us with.
I will stop here as, the wedding party, the Bride, the guests...are too much for my mind to cipher as yet, lol. It can be complicated. First things first! :)
