The Roman Church deceived multitudes for almost 2000 years now, also not understanding at all, and not trying to find God's Kingdom - they rejected it.

Jesus told His apostles who did not walk away: "My Words ARE SPIRIT, and they ARE LIFE" (i.e. Jesus never violated TORAH which forbid drinking blood or eating flesh) His Apostles did not understand until He Explained - but they trusted Him and WAITED with Him, stayed with Him, even though they did not understand. The Roman Church, though, rejects the Word, instead of gaining understanding , instead of seeking understanding at all.
Thank you Joseph.

If the “Roman Church” has been deceiving people for 2,000 years wouldn’t that make it the oldest surviving Church in Christian history?

If Jesus forbid drinking blood and eating flesh then why did he offer his flesh and blood to the Apostles at the Last Supper? Why would he say we must eat his flesh and drink his blood? Wouldn’t that be a confusing teaching on His part?

Several years AFTER the Last Supper didn’t Paul re-affirm Jesus teaching in 1 Corinthians 10:16?

Can you provide any 1st century historical records from Christianity backing up your belief that Christians at that time did not believe/practice the bread/wine to be His body/blood like he said it was?

Since there are some Protestant Churches that believe in the Real Presence teaching (that communion is His body/blood) have they also rejected ‘the Word’?

And WHY was consuming blood forbidden??

Answer:
Because the LIFE was contained in the blood (Lev. 17:11) - and you don't want the life of a goat or a bull in you.
HOWEVER - there is ONE Person whose life you DO want in you - and that is Christ.

Incidentally - you're WRONG about eating flesh. That was never forbidden.
Just as the Jews were to consume the flesh of the Passover Lamb - Christians are to consume the flesh of our Paschal Lamb of God.

NT fulfillments are always more perfect and glorious than their OT Types - without exception . . .
Hi BOL,

At least @Joseph77 recognizes the fact that our Church started 2,000 years ago. I applaud him for knowing his Christian history :)

If you mean the teaching from the false gospel from rome, then they are totally deceived - what will happen to them, God knows.

It appears now that there is no restriction on the false gospel in this thread, so it is pointless to continue in this thread.

The function of a priest is not found anywhere in the New Testament. Every genuine believer has God, in the Person of the Holy Spirit, living right inside of him, so why in thunder would we need a human priest? Is the human priest better than the Holy Spirit whom Jesus said would teach us all things, rather than any man (from his own opinions - although a faithful Bible teacher is teaching what the Holy Spirit wants us to know anyway).
In both Old and New Testaments, there are three ranks of priests, which are commonly referred to as the high priests, the ministerial priests, and the universal priests.

At the time of the Exodus the high priest was Aaron (Ex. 31:30), the ministerial priests were his four sons (Ex. 28:21; the sons were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar, the first two of which were killed for abusing their priestly duties), and the universal priests were the people of Israel as a whole (Exodus 19:6).

The three-fold model of the priesthood which was in use at the time of Aaron was carried over into the New Testament and thus we find there also a high priest, ministerial priests, and universal priests. In the New Testament age the high priest is Jesus Christ (Heb. 3:1), the ministerial priests are Christ’s ordained ministers of the gospel (Rom. 15:16), and the universal priests are the entire Christian people (1 Peter. 2:5, 9).

So the Bible clearly states that all Christians are priests (1 Peter 2:5, 9), as the Catholic Church clearly teaches for all who bother to read its teachings, see Catechism of the Catholic Church 1141-4, 1268, 1305, 1535, 1547, 1591-2 on the common priesthood. But the Bible also said the same thing about the Israelites (Ex. 19:6), yet this did not prevent there from being a separate, ministerial priesthood even before the Law of Moses was given (Ex. 19:22, 24).

Furthermore, since the top, Old Testament office of high priest corresponds to Jesus, the New Testament high priest, and since the bottom, Old Testament universal priesthood corresponds to the New Testament universal priesthood, the middle, ministerial priesthood in the Old Testament corresponds to a middle, ministerial priesthood in the New Testament.

This priesthood is identical with the office of elder. In fact, the term “priest” is simply a shortened, English version of the Greek word for “elder” — presbuteros — as any dictionary will confirm. This is any some Old Catholic translations render the word as “priests” where Protestant Bibles have “elder.” For example, in the Douay-Rheims Bible (the Catholic equivalent of the King James Version) we read:

“For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou shouldst set in order the things that are wanting, and shouldst ordain priests in every city, as I also appointed thee” (Titus 1:5).

“Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil, in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man; and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him” (James 5:14-15).

We also see in the New Testament that the functions of the Old Testament elder — who served in the synagogue — have been fused with the functions of the Old Testament priest — whose served in the temple.

We can see the fusion of the two concepts in Romans 15:15-16. In the New International Version of this passage, we read:
“I have written you quite boldly on some points, as if to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles with the priestly duty [literally, “the priestly work”] of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.”

Paul tells us that because he has been given a calling as a professional minister of Christ, he has a priestly work of preaching the gospel so that the Gentiles may be an offering — a sacrifice to God. This is not something only he has. Every elder in every church has that same “priestly work” of preaching the gospel. So Paul here conceives of the office of the New Testament minister as a priestly office. Notice that the hearers of the gospel in this passage are not depicted as priests, but as the sacrifice to God. Paul draws a distinction between himself and his work of preaching the gospel, and his readers and their duty of hearing it. It is the minister, not the congregation, who is here pictured as priest. The Office of New Testament Priest – Jimmy Akin

The function of a priest is not found anywhere in the New Testament.

It's always "pointless" to continue spewing lies about the Catholic Church when you run into a wall of educated Catholics . . .

Good point. Jesus says the truth/salvation is (YES IS) HIDDEN from those educated ones. so they cannot see, even if told, even though someone rose from the dead to warn them.

Is that quote directed at me? If it is I don't know what you mean and if it isn't I don't know what you mean.

Dear Pearl,

That quote is from Korah, speaking against Aaron and Moses.

Were I to say 'who are Richard ( my bishop) and John (my presbetyr) that they should rule over me. Have I not also been annointed priest, prophet and king?'
I would be repeating the error of Korah. In rejecting those whom the Lord has chosen to rule over His vineyard, we reject Him.
This is the 'rebellion of Korah' that Jude warns us against in Jude 11.

Peace be with you!

No, not at all. Your error and false teaching is deep in your life and in you.
The error of Korah would be if you spoke against God's chosen ones;
it is NOT AT ALL when (if God permits some day) you expose the sinfulness and false gospel in those NOT CHOSEN BY GOD who you have trusted and posted about.

Hello Joseph,

My doctrine is not my own, but that of my brothers and sisters for 2000 years, that which we received from Christ through His apostles.
Pride and rebellion have ever been the mark of the enemy..
' I will not have this man rule over me' is the call of the heart in opposition to God..

Would you, as Lucifer did, proclaim 'non serviam '?

As for me, and my household, i will join my voice to St. Michael's 'Serviam!'

You too! Are welcome to come to the wedding feast of the Lamb of God!

Peace be with you!

Most false doctrine is not a person's own doctrine, until they hear it. So that is no excuse, and will not be forgiven as long as it is held to.

Your rejection of the 2000 year old authoritative teaching of the Church is noted,

You will have to humble yourself and submit to the correction of the brethren if you wish to participate in the feast...

As the cancellation of public Mass in many places these days shows, the banquet hall doors will not always remain open...

The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." Let the hearer say, "Come." Let the one who thirsts come forward, and the one who wants it receive the gift of life-giving water

Peace!

GOOD ! A good testimony from the wicked even,

for those of us who reject the false gospel without hesitation , without caving in, without trusting the devil's men instead of Jesus !

Nobody rules over me apart from Jesus. Church leaders are not mean to rule over the flocks but to lead, teach and pastor them. You need to get into a church where the Holy Spirit leads.

Hello Pearl,

Do you not think that 'lead, teach and pastor' is ruling?
How then do you define 'rule' ?

Peace!
No I don't think any of those things are ruling in any way. Ruling is laying down the law. It is being above those in your flock. It is seeing others as inferior

Good. Do not fall for the trickery of the enemy , as obviously P.j. is trying to draw you into his own false religion and errors, to destroy your soul, to drag you down with him in destruction.
