Christ is also the accepted keeping and fulfillment of the Mosaic Day of Atonement too.
Jesus suffering outside the city is the fulfillment of the Mosaic law for the body of the burnt offering offered on the Day of Atonement to be taken outside of the Israelite camp and burned.

Leviticus 16:27
27The bull and the goat for the sin offerings, whose blood was brought into the Most Holy Place to make atonement, must be taken outside the camp; their hides, flesh and intestines are to be burned up.

Hebrews 13:11-12
11The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp. 12And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood.

The brazen altar was fulfilled at Calvary. Do you know of any further activity of Christ as High Priest representing the other aspects of atonement?
Yes. On the Day of Atonement the High Priest went alone behind the curtain to make atonement for the people. As High Priest, Christ did that with his own blood in the Tabernacle in heaven to obtain eternal redemption for the people of God.

Leviticus 16:15
15“He shall then slaughter the goat for the sin offering for the people and take its blood behind the curtain and do with it as he did with the bull’s blood: He shall sprinkle it on the atonement cover and in front of it.

Hebrews 6:19-20
...behind the curtain, 20where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf.

Hebrews 9:12
12He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining b eternal redemption.

You said you obey the law.

If you “ obey the Law....that would make you “Righteous “ , wouldn’t it. Self - Righteous is all....you make Paul a Liar .AND Jesus.
Jesus said, using Paul as His spokeman.....” There is NO ONE that is “ Righteous”—— no, not ONE”
Please get an easy to read Bible and actually READ it .....you are a walking embarrassment....I pray that all Newbies know that you are as Blind as a man can be....
Even if Michiah-Imla 'kept' the law perfectly as commanded by God that is done through the righteousness of the Spirit that indwells the believer, not the self righteousness of the person. And doing that does not make him righteous. It shows him to be righteous. Righteous through faith in Christ, not righteous of his own merit.

There is no quality of his own righteousness that can keep the law perfectly. That's the 'self' righteousness that is condemned in scripture because it is inadequate to keep the righteous requirements of the law. Only through the righteousness of God in us by the Holy Spirit can we uphold the righteous requirements of the law as commanded. That is not self righteousness when a person does that.

They DEFINATELY know the Law! I suspect that they also Know the Following .....”Christ is the END of the LAW for Righteous “....
Have you actually ever “ READ” the Bible ? This is so much Christianity 101! You behave “ as if ignorance were a Virtue” .....what are you even “ Doing” here? You would not recognize “ rightly Dividing” if it came up and bit you on yourA**.........
The church always misses that point. Christ is the end of the law FOR RIGHEOUSNESS (Romans 10:4). It is you and the church that are guilty of not rightly dividing the word of God. The misunderstanding that the law is how you become righteous has ended, not the righteous requirements of the law themselves.

All of the law is fulfilled in and through Christ and the indwelling Holy Spirit. All of it.

In what regard?

I assure you "love your neighbor as yourself"—Leviticus 19:18 has not been done away with. That gets fulfilled in us when we walk by the Spirit and keep commands like 'don't show favoritism', 'don't lie', 'don't commit adultery', etc. Meanwhile, there are various worship commands that have been 'laid aside' as unneeded now as to their literal keeping, but still fulfilled, nonetheless, for us by Christ and the indwelling Holy Spirit. The law of circumcision, for example. The literal law is laid aside as unneeded now because it's requirement has already been fulfilled for the believer through faith in Christ and the indwelling Holy Spirit. There is no more need to do that which has already been done for us in Christ.

The Bible does not create this dichotomy between doing something because the law of Moses says to do it, and doing it because the church references some kind of different law for us to follow. Read James 2. James is literally using the law of Moses to teach the church what "believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ" should be doing and not doing.

Jesus said....”ALL things are Lawful....some things are just not wise to do....” How does “that” impact your Vaunted Law ? That Law That Jesus also said, “had no POWER to Save “ and only “,Stirred-up the Old Sin Nature” and was “ Weak and Useless”.....You are free to stay stuck in something that has “ NO POWER to Save”.....
The POWER to Save is in the Gospel Of Paul.....that’s where I will hang my hat.... Continue in your “ Self Trust” as opposed to “ Jesus Trust” and your “ hat” had better be a Fire-Helmet....lol...

Hi trollman,

Which part of Galatians utterly destroys Catholic Doctrine??

Also, Protestant theory teaches that the truth will be revealed to me with guidance by the Holy Spirit (even though my truth may be different than your truth). Sooooo how can you be so sure that the Holy Spirit didn't guide me to this truth??? After all I am a fulfillment of the Protestant theory!!!

Hi Gospel Perverter!.....thanks for calling me a troll, btw...

Paul says in Galatians that if you ADD to his Gospel Of Grace which says that ALL you have to do to be Saved is to Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead....Two Things and Two Things only....
Doesn’t Popism say there are 7 things you must do? Take the sacraments , confess to a fellow sinner with a funny collar who sins by letting people call him “ father”, infant baptism, etc.....seems like you are ADDING at least Five things to the Gospel just going out the gate!

Paul says that if you ADD to his Gospel with ANYTHING that either GETS you Saved , or KEEPS you Saved......you are “ Fallen from Grace “ —- some say that means “Damnation” .....intelligent people can disagree.

Here is where their is NO Room for debate.....Paul clearly says that if you “PREACH” such a False, Perverted Gospel ( saying the Blood might be “ Essential” for your Salvation—- just not “ adequate” in and of itself—- there is something that YOU have to do to help Jesus out ) ....you are “ Accursed” .....damned by God Forever.....
Careful what you preach in here, woman .....Paul said that we are going to be Judged by God in accordance with we did with his Gospel Of Grace Plus Nothing.....Read all about it in 1cor15:1-4.....
Run, don't walk from your religious Lodge .....find Church instead.....one that has as its Anchor, “ Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus “ .....is that song in catholic hymnals? If so, please tear it out.....God Hates hypocrisy ....

Christians are DEAD to the Law.....it was given to “close the Mouth” Of anybody who thinks they can keep it ....”Close the mouth” is just a polite way to say, “ SHUT UP “...... I wish that some in here would learn that lesson in regard to “ Law- Keeping” and Shut Up about it.....

Christ is the END of the LAW for Righteous

Not withstanding your froward language (which speaks volumes); It is written that the law is not made void by faith (Romans 3:31).

The law is not voided.

But through Christ we now do works that have no law against them:

Galatians 5:22-24 KJVS
[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. [24] And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

This is what is meant by “the end of the law”, because those that are Christ’s do works that have no law against them.

It’s kinda like someone who doesn’t drive; traffic laws will never be violated by him because he simply does not drive a car.

Your demeanor reeks of the flesh. You need to understand that they that are indeed saved have crucified the flesh (as the scripture says).

It is quite apparent that you have not crucified the flesh.

It does not save us or make us righteous....however, it is the doers of the law who will be justified (Romans 2:13).

This is 100% incorrect!

Romans 4:13-16
King James Version

13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

Romans 5
King James Version

5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Habakkuk 2:4
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

omans 1:17
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Galatians 3:11
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Hebrews 10:38
Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

YOur understanding of Romans 2 is faulty.

And that thinking is a False, Perverted Gospel.....The “ Salvation Of your Soul” is Two Things....#1 Christ’s Blood #2 Your Trust in #1

I understand how he fulfilled all the demands for worship and sanctity found in the old covenant. How did he fulfill the demand of the old covenant for us to 'love your neighbor as yourself'? When you don't do that, it is not fulfilled. As I have just shown in a post, the debt of law to 'love your neighbor as yourself is never satisfied. It is a continuing debt of law (Romans 13:8). There's always someone in the next moment that we are indebted to love. That command is never fulfilled and set aside as obsolete and no longer needed.

By you rlogic then we are under the Mosaic Law governing marital and servant relationships. Jesus never was married, nor did He own any servants, so you must fulfill them. Jesus fulfilled the entire demand of teh law when He died and rose again. He tasted death for all mankind so God could have mercy on the elect.

But we are not under the Mosaic Law. If you love your neighbor based on a desire to keep the Mosaic Law- you accomplish nothing.

If you love your neighbor because of Jesus command to the church- you do well.

YOu are doing the same in both! ONe leads nowhere, while the other leads to exalting Jesus and drawing you closer to Him.

YOu need to understand that the whole of the Mosaic Law was ended! It longer exists.
The church lives under the law of Christ! If anything from the old was RE-established for the church, then it is a command for the church that is found in both. But make no mistake we do nothing to follow the Mosaic Law.

Example. California and Massachusetts both have 65mph speed limits on their highway. When I am in Massachusetts, I drive 65MPH not because California (the Mosaic LAw) says to drive 65 but because Mass. (the law of christ) says to drive 65.

I believe in OSAS because Jesus said that BB had “ crossed over from death into Life.” How was that accomplished? Simple.I did the Will Of God.I did not believe in myself ....I “Believed In ONE That He sent”
Here is all that I need to Prove OSAS.....unless Jesus is a Liar.....do you think Jesus is a Liar? Here is what He said in John 5:24......”Whoever hears My Word and Believes who sent me HAS Eternal Life and will NEVER come under Condemnation”.......
When somebody persuades me that “ Never “ does not mean “ Never” , then I will renounce OSAS....
Let me see you give it your best shot to squirm your way out of John 5:24...... history shows that you will simply avoid this verse and quickly change the subject......what are YOU going to do with that verse? Many people are watching .........
Brother, the assumption many make is that belief is a one time prayer, but they misunderstand that faith in Jesus is a walk, a relationship, for the just shall live by faith. If one is truly one of His sheep, will they not endure in the faith, eyes fixed upon their beloved savior?

Do you not remember when Jesus told His disciples about two men asked by the master to go work in His fields? The first said "I will go." but didn't. The second said "No way!" but eventually went. Jesus then asked His disciples which one did the will of the Father. And we both know wht Jesus said.

I pray many people are watching, for it is when we finally come to the conclusion that we cannot trust ourselves to remain faithful because of our fickle, oft-times rebellious, disobedient flesh, that we cry out to God for brand new natures that He promises He will CAUSE to stay obedient and to continue to believe and look to Jesus as His savior.

blessings to you, BB

Gideon

I definitely agree if we are sinning we are to stop.

But repentance - metanoia - the exchanging of the mind - is at salvation, when we first come to Christ, having repented of our sin. After He changes us, we have a new mind, and we don't "metanoia" again, but we do stop sinning if we are.

I believe our salvation is found entirely in Jesus Christ, and not in our own behavior.

Much love!

Sorry to have to disagree with you here.....I tend to agree with everything you say but not this time! I disagree STRONGLY !
“ Metanoia” literally means “mind change.” If Faith in Paul’s Gospel , given to him personally by Jesus , is the Promise Of God that we simply have to BELIEVE in order to be saved .....it makes perfect sense that if a person “ changes his mind” from NOT believing the Gospel that saves a soul, to actuallyBELIEVING in that Gisoel That Saves a Soul .....He has done any and All the Repenting that he needs to do....
Repenting From Sins in order to be Saved “ sounds” Good , But NOWHERE in the KJV does it say “ repent of sins to be Saved!
Are we to repent ? Yes. Are we told to repent of sins? Of course! But NEVER “ repent of sins to be saved!” Repentance does not always have to be attached to Sinning! Nobody “ repents “ more in the Bible than God Himself does ! Six times!
The Book that we send beginners to, the Book Of Salvation—- The Book Of John— uses the word “ Believe “ 49 times.....the word “ repent?”......zero.A wise man would learn a lesson from that...
If “ repenting From Sins” is the KEY to Salvation, and if you are saying That Repentance is referring to the sorrow and guilt attached to Sinning, there will be no other greater hero in Neaven than Judas.....he Repented to the point that he actually gave all the money back to the religious rulers.
As a Saved Believer in Jesus and the Gospel ( the Actual things that save me and keep me Saved) , I Repent every day! I sometimes succumb to the “ Sin that besets us so easily” and even James admits that “ We ALL stumble” on occasion.
I sin , I regret it, I apologize to God about it and because this type of “ Repenting” is no fun at all, I try to abandon the sin that caused it all .Befire I was Saved, I didn’t go through any of this stuff.....I Sinned with abandon!
Look....the Sorrow for Sin ( “ that” kind of repentance ) can LEAD to Salvation.....the Holy Spirit opens your Heart and shows you for the Wretch that you are.....then you get Fearful about it for the first time ......you see that you are headed for a well- deserved Hell like a speeding bullet ....and then you understand that you had Better do something about it! The thing to Do is to “ change your mind” about Jesus and who He us and what He has done .....you have never seen the need to Turn to Him for Forgiveness.....you never thought you were “ perfect” or anything, but you thought that you were “ good enough” for Heaven ..
THAT my friends, is the SIN of Self- Righteousness .That is the Sin that is common to all that live in Satan’s “ Fool’s Paradise” where people Believe that they are Fit For Heaven because they are notvlike that guy doing timecin the State Pen—— THEY are the types of people that need Jesus to get to Heaven—- NOT ME!
Until one has his or her eyes opened to the fact that they are Lost Sinners....they ain’t never going to come to God....in their blind eyes, they don’t think that they NEED to. It’s simply Pride.....it’s simply Self - Righteousness . Until you REPENT , or “ change your mind “ about your True State , you are just as Lost as an Eskimo in Times Square. You MUST Repent to be Saved.....but one has to understand what the word means in relation to Salvation.....
The thief on the Cross Repented .....he changed his mind! At first , he was just like the Unsaved Thief.....trying to put Jesus to the test.....if he was the Son Of God he should get them down from those crosses.....there was no Contriteness in Him at first ....later he saw that he was a rotten sinner, admitting that he was “ getting what he deserved.” He had undergone the “ mind change “ ...He was convicted of Sin now at last... He turned to Jesus ( literally” ) .....he had the Faith to Believe that Jesus was who He said He was ( the.Lord) . As a result of all of this ....he got saved!
You can too! REPENT! ........just make sure you understand what the word means.....you think you are “good enough” and don’t need God? You had best “ change your mind “ about that lie and start Believing the Gospel Of 1cor15:1-4 .....Non-repenters need not apply! If you don’t have the Contrite Heart that True Repentance requires .....you will not understand the Gospel ....it will be “ foolishness” to you..... God bless and I apologize for the length if this post.....I get “ carried away” sometimes!

And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’ (Matthew 13:14-15)

Jesus said....”ALL things are Lawful..
No, the CORINTHIANS said that. Apparently, Paul did not agree with them that sleeping with your father's wife was lawful for them to do—1 Corinthians 5:1, Leviticus 18:8.

..some things are just not wise to do....” How does “that” impact your Vaunted Law ?
The law is a way to know what those 'some things' are that are just not wise to do.

Psalm 19:7
7The Law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul;
the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making wise the simple.

That Law That Jesus also said, “had no POWER to Save “ and only “,Stirred-up the Old Sin Nature” and was “ Weak and Useless”..
The law only stirs up sin in the unsaved person who is still in the realm of the flesh and does not have faith in God. The commands of God are not burdensome to the saved person who has faith in God......

1 John 5:3-4
His commandments are not burdensome, 4because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.

This is not a beat down on those who are sincerely struggling in a besetting sin. You will get the victory. This is an indictment to those who say the law stirs up sin in the born again person. Psalm 19 makes it very clear that the law does not do that in the born again person.

...You are free to stay stuck in something that has “ NO POWER to Save”.....
The POWER to Save is in the Gospel Of Paul.....that’s where I will hang my hat.... Continue in your “ Self Trust” as opposed to “ Jesus Trust” and your “ hat” had better be a Fire-Helmet....lol...
If I was stuck in the law I'd be living in violation of it because people who have faith have the victory. His commands are not burdensome to them (1 John 5:3-4). You say they are.

Unsaved people are the ones for whom the law stirs up sin and who remain condemned by the law in the slavery of their sin in their unconverted selves. They don't have victory and can't have it because they don't have faith in God, and so they remain condemned by the law they can't keep. The person of faith obeys the law that you say increases sin in them. I'm going with John on this one, not you. And so should every sincere Christian struggling with a besetting sin reading this.
