The Kumbh Mela religious festival in the northern city of Haridwar, has already attracted nearly 5 million largely non-mask wearing Hindu pilgrims to the banks of the holy Ganges River this week.
Festival organizer Siddharth Chakrapani told AFP news agency "our faith is the biggest thing for us. It is because of that strong belief that so many people have come here to take a dip in Ganga. They believe that Maa (mother) Ganga will save them from this pandemic."

Ganges is a pretty filthy river, people get sick using the water, they bathe, drink it, burn dead bodies next to it, corpses float by, it has human and animal waste.

Nearly 80 percent of the sewage dumped into the river is untreated, and the amount of human fecal matter is more than 300 times the limit set by India’s Central Pollution Control Board. This is in addition to the toxic waste caused by dumping of insecticides, pesticides, and metals, and industrial pollutants.

These dangerous levels of pollution do little to deter religious practice from the sacred river. Hindus believe drinking water from the Ganges brings fortune, while immersing oneself or one’s belongings brings purity. Those that practice these rituals may become spiritually clean, but the pollution of the water afflicts thousand with diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, and even typhoid each year.

In 2014, the government of India pledged to spend nearly $3 billion on a three-year clean-up project, though as of 2019, the project had not yet begun.

I agree. People do that when they feel the are better than anyone else just like the Pharisee did to the Publican in the parable. While we Christians see them as needing Christ they are still made in the Imago Dei and we should give them the respect that that entails.

This is the real tragedy. The meaning of "case" has been TOTALLY PERVERTED. The so-called reported cases are based upon the PCR test. And the PCR test has been shown to produce PRIMARILY false positives. That's because the CT values were set too high. Therefore WHO recently sent out a memo saying that those positives were generally bogus (but expressed differently).

At the same time, a positive PCR result is not automatically a case, and so we have medical fraud right here. Only those who are actually showing symptoms of influenza and are under treatment are actual medical cases. So about 99% of those "cases" should be rejected.

Then when we come to COVID deaths, they were deliberately inflated for the purpose of fear-mongering by at least 30% (if not 50%). Which changes the entire narrative. Unfortunately there was no independent investigative body of ethical experts who should have thoroughly investigated this whole bogus pandemic.

You cannot trust Reuters for straight news reporting anymore. They have joined all the other propagandists. What are "COVID-19 infections"? Are they actually sick people, or false positives due to faulty PCR tests? Or simply manufactured out of thin air for the sake of fear-mongering?

Hasn't fear been utilized since the dawn of sillization to control the masses?
It doesn't have to be truth that invites fear. Any avenue to accomplish that end often shall suffice.

What would be different with that advent of Covid?
Lock down. Agree. Fear the virus.

Barred from attending church. Concede. Fear the virus.Self-isolate, close your business,stay home.let government millionaires vote on how much money to allow your survival. Accept that. Fear the virus.
