Weaving

Fabric for clothing and household use was woven on a simple loom, usually by the young girls of the family. All the fabric for the Temple, including the robes for the priests and the even the dividing curtain between the Holy Place and the Most Holy were all woven by young girls who were virgins. It was a tremendous honor for a family to have a daughter chosen for the sacred task, although generally weaving was considered a despised trade.
