There is a connection with actually hearing from our Lord Jesus Christ, doing what He says, and getting healing. This is explained in the Bible.

Ex 15:26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.

The problem then is that we don't hear from Him otherwise we would get healing.

Mat 13:115 FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL,
WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR,
AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES,
OTHERWISE THEY WOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES,
HEAR WITH THEIR EARS,
AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN,
AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.'

Of course there is also something about how all flesh is like grass - and something about it given to us to die once. Still there is a connection with actually hearing His with our spiritual ears by faith and Him healing us!!!!

So I read people tell people they need to go to church for healing. Ok - He might use the church in many ways to heal us, but going to church is not the same thing as actually taking time to seek Jesus Christ and hear what He has to say to you. So yeah - go to church - but that is not the answer. The answer is actually turning to Jesus Christ and listening to Him.

I also read where we advise people in need to read their Bible. Well - Jesus Christ as the Word of God did tell those who wrote the Bible to write, so reading what they wrote is advisable, however reading what someone else wrote, even if they got the the words they wrote from Jesus Christ, is not the same thing as hearing Him for yourself.

I also read people give vague testimonies about how Jesus Christ was with them and healed them - and those are good testimonies - but they rarely actually explain about how they hear Him talking to them and how important that was for them. So the connection between hearing His voice for yourself and getting your healing is often missed.

Now the Lord had me sign up and work in a Christian healing ministry for five years. I learned a lot doing that. What I found out was that my job was to turn people to Jesus Christ, and to get them to listen to Him for themselves!!!!! I learned that by listening to Him myself. He wants His people to listen to Him, however if they are going to close their eyes and ears so they don't hear from Him, then what?

I saw a lot of people get healed, and even a high percentage of people who came in for healing got some healing. I'd say at least 70 % of the people who came to that ministry got some healing from Jesus Christ. Often He would do a little, then a little more if they came back. Sometimes He would just do a great miracle right then. Sometimes He they would come in for one thing, I would hear Him ask about another thing and when I checked they would also have that issue and He would heal that on that night, so they didn't get the healing they came in for but got the healing He wanted to give them on that night.

Jesus Christ, as God and the Word of God, is still going to do the right thing. So to find out what we need to do we must listen to Him!!!!!!

So do you need healing - well start talking to Him with a focus on actually trying to listen for what He has to say to you!!

Do you have depression - well Jesus Christ can get rid of that problem, but you need to seek His voice and listen to what He says. Pretending to but not actually dong that is not going to fool Him. Jesus Christ knows you listens and seek Him and who doesn't. You can't fool God.

So do you have too many other voices going off in your head. Well, He can get rid of those other voice, but He might not completely remove them all. Paul explained the he had a messenger from Satan like a thorn in his side and that the Lord was unwilling to remove that messenger from Satan. It is written that we have battles with the dark forces of this world - so we need to seek Jesus Christ the King of kings and His Kingdom of God. There are more with us than against us, but do we seek our Lord Jesus Christ, really??

In all of my 80 years, I have never encountered anyone who had been healed, apart from the ability of the body to defend and heal itself. The death rate continues to be 100%.

You should do a search of healing testimonies of Jesus. You will be amazed. Of course we all die eventually, But there are people who have been healed miraculously of untreatable diseases and Lived full lives to the astonishment of the medical doctors.

And for these miracles i give the Glory to God as opposed to the fallen Human body.

That is interesting. I was over 40 when the Lord came into my life and at that time I had never encountered anyone who had been healed, at least to my knowing. Perhaps I did and it never came up, but I had certainly not seen it. Then He came into my life and I started hearing Him. It was less than a year later when He first asked me to pray for healing. It was my daughter who had a problem in her knees from her growing and playing soccer. I took her to the doctor who explain she would grow out of it in a couple of years. My Lord Jesus Christ who talks to me via His Holy Spirit had me pray and the swelling started going down under my hands as I prayed for it. That was about 20 years ago, and since then I have literally seen the Lord do hundreds of miracles, maybe thousands. It is way too many to count.

Even for me He did miracles. I had a bad knee from a surfing injury and He told me to go to a certain Christian healing ministry, so I went like He told me. Of course to hear Him you have to listen to Him. Anyway, I went like He told me, and they prayed for my knee. It instantly got hot and healed. It took maybe five seconds. Another time I had a growth behind my ear about the size of a pellet. I put my fingers on it, prayed, and it shrunk and disappeared completely in about 20 seconds.

So what do you hear from Him? What is He telling you? Of course I don't need to know what He tells you, but you do. I usually hear from the Lord about a dozen times a day - which I know is very poor. He is with me all day long, so only taking time to hear from Him a dozen times a day is not good. Yet He asked me to make this thread this morning, so I did it. So what had He asked you to do today??

Again, I don't need to know what He has asked people to do today but they do!!

So what - do they listen?

According to what is written in the Bible many are not listening with their ears so they don't turn to Him, and so He does not heal them!

Or do we think the Bible is wrong?

Oh people do searches of their Bible and even study it - but do they believe what they read??

Do they seek the Lord and His voice - or do they just go about searching the Bible and thinking that is going to get them their healing and their salvation? Reading the Bible does get a person saved, nor is it going to get them healed. Seeking Jesus Christ by faith gets those things done!!

Jesus told the Jews - Jn 5:39:40“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.

Do we not understand that sickness is death coming on us? Even depression is death coming on us. We have to battle with the powers and dark forces of this world, so we need Jesus Christ the King and His Kingdom of God. The Kingdom is in our midst, and we find the Kingdom (which includes our King) when we seek first the Kingdom of God -- are we doing that and telling people to do that. The Bible tells them to do that, but we say search the Scriptures and look at all the healing done 2000 years ago.

My friends - seek the Lord Jesus Christ like the Bible tells you too and find the healing He has for your "TODAY"!!!

Heb 3:3-11Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says,
“TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE,
DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS WHEN THEY PROVOKED ME,
AS IN THE DAY OF TRIAL IN THE WILDERNESS,
WHERE YOUR FATHERS TRIED Me BY TESTING Me,
AND SAW MY WORKS FOR FORTY YEARS.
“THEREFORE I WAS ANGRY WITH THIS GENERATION,
AND SAID, ‘THEY ALWAYS GO ASTRAY IN THEIR HEART,
AND THEY DID NOT KNOW MY WAYS’;
AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH,
‘THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST.’”

Look what happened to those people - and are we different?? Are we seeking His voice "Today" - because "Today" is the day you should hear from our omni-present God!!!

People keep going back and saying "seek the Bible" when the Bible says seek first the Kingdom of God!!!

Yeah read the Bible but if you have didn't you notice that the Bible points people to our King - Jesus Christ - and that as King He has a Kingdom of power? So are we pointing pointing people to the Bible or Jesus Christ???

The Holy Spirit once told me: "We don't use the Lord to preach the Bible, we use the Bible to preach the Lord."

Well He told me that, but obviously many people are using the Lord Jesus Christ to preach the Bible. So is the Holy Spirit correct or what?

People - if you want more to see more healing start seeking the Lord like you read about in the Bible!!

The weight of the Holy Spirit made me fall over backwards once.
It took 15 seconds for me to reach the floor.
To me, that was a miracle.

God speaks to me via Scripture, and I don't see where the Bible tells me to pursue healing

Hearing is not reading!!! I would think everyone would understand that. Writing a book for everyone to read is a form a communication but reading a book someone had published in not the same thing as having a conversation with someone at dinner. Try reading a book some famous person wrote then go to their house and try telling them that you know them and they will not think that is the case. So it is that many will try to say that they know Him on that day but will be told by Him that He never knew them. This is all explained in the Bible. The good news is that He is trying to get our attention with His voice. The Bible explains that, but some are searching the Scriptures thinking that in them they have eternal life instead of actually seeking Him and what He has to personally say to them.

So let me just pop of a couple of Scriptures that might help any thinking reading the Scriptures are hearing from Him - and I will point out a bit about healing too.

Jn 5:37-40 “And the Father who sent Me, He has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form. “You do not have His word abiding in you, for you do not believe Him whom He sent. “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.

It was a problem back then and since there is nothing new under the sun, we is going to be a problem for many today. According to the above verses that record what Jesus explained to the Jews - they were not hearing His voice because they did not have His word abiding in them! What they did do was search the Scriptures thinking in them they had eternal life - yet they were unwilling to come to Jesus Christ so they might have life. If indeed reading the Scriptures were in fact hearing the voice of the Lord then Jesus Christ was badly in error, because He said is wasn't - right there in those verses I copied above. Therefore anyone saying that reading the Scriptures is God speaking to them is clearly wrong according to the Scriptures!!

Jn 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

The words Jesus Christ speaks to us come to us via His Holy Spirit, and because of that we hear them in our spirit. Now we can and should listen to what the Holy Spirit is telling us when reading the Bible, but if you think that reading the Bible is hearing from Him then you are not seeking the Lord and His words that come via His Holy Spirit. Therefore we who listen understand that His words come to us from His Holy Spirit and are found in our spirit - which means we find His words in our heart and sometimes in our mouth.

Rom 10:8 But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,

So we don't preach the Scriptures as the Word of God but rather we are to preach that small voice of His which we find in our hearts and on our lips "that is, the word of faith which we are preaching". This does mean the Bible is not worth reading for a number of reason. After all I just used the Scriptures to tell people about Jesus Christ and how He sends His Holy Spirit to us so we can talk with Him. So the Scripture are good for teaching and reproof to those who don't actually seek Him. Still, they can pretend obedience to Him and go by tradition.

Ps 81: 11-15 “But My people did not listen to My voice,
And Israel did not obey Me.
“So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart,
To walk in their own devices.
“Oh that My people would listen to Me,
That Israel would walk in My ways!
“I would quickly subdue their enemies
And turn My hand against their adversaries.
“Those who hate the LORD would pretend obedience to Him,
And their time of punishment would be forever.

Now this morning I prayed the Lord's pray with some extras and sat back to listen to my Lord. He ask me to open up my Bible and read Ps 81. And in case you still don't understand I heard words from Jesus Christ my Lord through His Holy Spirit speaking to my spirit, and I was clearly told to read Ps 81. You can and need to hear from Him, otherwise He will turn you over to the stubbornness of your own heart, but know that He wants you to listen to Him! Still people, even His people, often won't listen to Him - and the results for them will be punishment forever. I don't want that to happen to anyone, so I tell them to listen to Him. He is there!!

Now concerning healing and listening - did I not provide a verse from the Scriptures and explain the connection. So who does anyone think that connection does not exist and try to explain that God who heals us, is not going to do that???

Ex 15:26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.

Compare the scripture above with the statement I have quoted

God speaks to me via Scripture, and I don't see where the Bible tells me to pursue healing

The Bible tells you to listen to the Lord because He is "the Lord who heals you"!!!!

Did He lie and just said He is "the Lord who heals you" but never really intended to. Either God is truthful and He is "the Lord who heals" us or He is a liar. I have my problems. Honestly, one is dealing with people who try and tell me they go by the Bible, but when you look at what they write they clearly are not paying attenton

One thing I learned when I was sick with a lung disease in my 40s.
I was really beaten up by the lung surgery.
If I focus on hate, lust and just angry for having to go thru this, my healing slowed and sometimes I got worst.
If I was positive about my healing and thank god and focus on God healing me, even when it seemed I was doing badly.
I started to heal really fast and even needed fewer painkillers. It took several days of this before I connected the dots.
When I woke up in a panic attack at night from the pain. I few of my ribs were broken and I could not breathe right to start with.
What got me thru the really bad ones, was not believing in my healing but excepting it as fact and being grateful for it.

It was a horrible experience, even worst when It came back a few years ago. But each time I learn so must about how my thought can control my body and my healing.

In all of my 80 years, I have never encountered anyone who had been healed, apart from the ability of the body to defend and heal itself. The death rate continues to be 100%.

You’re mistaking being healed of sickness with having immortality.

We are allotted X amount of years by God, and many Christians pass peacefully in their sleep, not from illness, but because their allotted time was up.

When Moses died he was in great health. Scripture says his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. He’s an example of death that comes to all men, not from dying due to disease.

God uses different ways of healing - James 5:13 says if you’re sick go to church and the elders will anoint you with oil and the prayer of faith will heal you.

Some get healed by learning that Jesus already healed us by His stripes, and giving God thanks and praise that they were already healed 2,000 years ago by Jesus, and the healing Jesus already purchased for us, manifests in their sickness.

Physical healing Is part of the Atonement of Jesus, that’s why the word SOZO is translated interchangeably as both SAVED and HEALED in the New Testament - because the word means to be completely made whole, spiritually, emotionally and physically, NOT just spiritually.

G4982 (Strong)

σώζω

sōzō

sode'-zo

From a primary word σῶς sōs̄ (contraction for the obsolete σάος saos, “safe”); to save, that is, deliveror protect(literally or figuratively): - heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.

Total KJV occurrences: 110

Romans 10:13 for just one example: whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be SOZO (saved).

SOZO: (made completely whole - spiritually, emotionally, and physically)

The Bible shows us healing is available for everyone who has been saved, and born again:

1) Healing is the children’s bread; (Matt. 15:22-28)

2) Jesus already healed us by His stripes (1 Peter 2:24).

3) Jesus healed everyone who was sick, in fulfillment of Isaiah’s chapter 53:5 prophesy that He took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses (Matthew 8:16-17) (refers to Isaiah 53:4-5, the Atonement of Jesus).

4) The benefits of God is He forgiveness ALL our sins and heals ALL our diseases Psalm 103:3;

Also, many are the afflictions of the righteous but God delivers them out of THEM ALL,

Psalm 34:19

5) Healing is such a part of His atonement that Jesus healed a paralytic by forgiving his sins: “pick up your mat and walk, your sins have been forgiven”. Luke 5:20-25

Psalm 103:3, Luke 5:20-25, and James 5:13-15 all link physical healing with forgiveness of sin.

Why? It’s part of salvation - of being made completely whole, spiritually, emotionally, and physically - SOZO - interchangeably translated in the Bible, as ‘saved’, and ‘healed’.

The Hebrew in Isaiah 53:5 means: by His wounds, bruises, and stripes, we are made completely whole.

Not partially whole, with just our sins forgiven, but made completely whole.

One way to be healed is found in James5:14-16 where we are promised:

James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Jas 5:15 And the prayer of faith SHALL heal the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Jas 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

And Jesus said that a sign that will follow those who believe, is their laying hands on the sick, and they will recover, in Mark 16:17-18.

There are healing miracles that occur regularly in churches that believe God still does miracles today, and lay hands on the sick, in the name of Jesus.

Shalom Aleichem

What got me thru the really bad ones, was not believing in my healing but excepting it as fact and being grateful for it.

It was a horrible experience, even worst when It came back a few years ago. But each time I learn so must about how my thought can control my body and my healing.

I liked the testimony - but one question:

Since you wrote that when you focused on God healing you the healing went faster - was it not God's thoughts that started coming to you then?

Jn 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

It is my belief that if we seek the Lord Jesus Christ we will find Him, because He will send His Holy Spirit to talk to our spirit. Therefore if a person focuses on Him (as describes) He will be faithful to be found. Thus a person focusing on God would be getting thoughts (actually His Spirit communicating with our spirit) and those thoughts tend to bring forth life (His words) as opposed to sickness (which is just the on set of death)

Now an scoffer would not reach my conclusion nor even accept a testimony as given above, but I firmly believe ve1nhb post. However I might conclude that instead of our thoughts controlling out healing I would suggest that His thoughts (or more specifically His words from His Holy Spirit that we might only pick up as thoughts because we don't hear too well with our spiritual ears) which are bring the healing (life). Never-the-less, it goes straight back to "Jesus Christ the healer and the Word of God" - and our seeking Him and His words ( or thoughts if we are not too attuned to using our spiritual ears).

This is the typical cessationist statement- I’ve heard it a hundred times.

Christians,, don’t ignorantly try to clear out hospitals, for the same reason Jesus didn’t clear out the leper colonies that existed in that day, but let the lepers who had faith that they could be healed by Jesus, come to Him and ask to be healed.

As to the astonishing claim that believers shouldn’t seek the healing that’s available to them, James 5:14 refutes that, since it says, this:

Jas 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call to him the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

Jas 5:15 and the prayer of faith shall heal the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he be one who has committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.

Jas 5:16 Confess therefore your offences to one another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The fervent supplication of the righteous man has much power.

We are told to seek healing in church from the elders when we are sick, and told that the prayer of faith SHALL heal the sick.

God promises two things: 1. many are the afflictions of the righteous, and 2. God delivers them out of them ALL:

Psa 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

We are to,d that the BENEFITS God has for us are that He forgives ALL our iniquities and heals ALL our diseases:

Psa 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Psa 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Jesus healed all who were sick and afflicted who had faith enough to seek Him out and ask to be healed, and Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and He said that He who believes in Him can do the same works He did, John 14:12.
