Be encouraged, I know someone who had leukaemia, he said that God has healed him.
Praying for your darling little niece ,bless her darling heart....I hate to see a child so young endure pain....that she will receive healing from God and will be free of Leukaemia...in Jesus Name...Amen!

I am not sure. I need to get in touch with my niece (Lexie is my grandniece) I talked to her yesterday and she said something about the treatment had knocked down leukemia cells to 1% ( I am not sure what that means but it sounds like it's working)

Yes it's working....
Lukemia is a form of cancer that is highly treatable anymore. It's not the same as it used to be.
Better drugs and understanding of the disease than ever before. For some people it's just a prescription they take for a few months. For others it's the chemotherapy treatments and losing your hair.
Most cases are recovered from anymore.
I can remember when it wasn't so curable. Lost a few friends to it. During that time it grew to 50% chance of surviving by getting it to go into remission....now? Very different.
When they start talking about bone marrow transplants and chemotherapy....it is very serious. So long as her kidneys and liver hold up....she will make it through and be able to catch up on school.

Sorry about your friend. But great great news that they have come along way since then!
The scientists are blessed and working wonders.
I pray Lexi will recover quickly as children generally have a good outlook on life to inspire them, and may she shine her light
It's been more than one....
But yes....things have changed drastically.
I was on a construction job a couple years before my retirement and this woman a few years younger than me came up with lukemia (former armed servicemember) and the VA gave her a prescription and told her to go back to work. She was concerned she wasn't getting proper treatment. I told her that she likely was as that's all they do for Lukemia most of the time.
The pills made her feel tired but she was dragging anyway due to the disease. (Construction is hard work...kinda understandable)
Last I heard she was just fine....ornery and difficult to be around (like me) .
