Amazing! Socrates Scholasticus records something like, That all churches celebrated the Sabbath and mysteries (sacraments) “every week throughout the world”. He did not record that, “the Christians of Rome and Alexandria do not (also like the rest of the world) celebrate the Sabbath and sacraments every week”! That, Socrates Scholasticus did not record. What he (until this day) <records> and clearly until this day means, is that some, certain, Christians in Rome and Alexandria (Byzantium church), celebrated not only the Sabbath and the Sacraments as world wide every week, but <also> celebrated other things, ‘mysteries, mysteries and sabbaths not, Christian. And whether Sunday worship was one of these celebrated mysteries, Socrates does not say, DID NOT RECORD VERBBATIM. NOT EVEN MEANT. That was the status quo according to Finley. Why does he still ask? Amazing! That was Church doctrine to Church practice— universal, ‘catholic’. And the exception proved the rule, not contradicted the rule. The Church throughout the world every week celebrated the Sabbath together with the sacraments. Rome and Alexandria did not.



God’s Sabbath and the sacraments of the Church were not celebrated, observed, kept in Rome and Alexandria. Sokrates does not record that instead of the Sabbath, Sunday was celebrated in Rome and Alexandria. He records the sacraments and the Sabbath were not performed. Sokrates also does not record that Rome’s mysterious fake sacraments were performed every week throughout the world. They were not rituals of the Church – not anywhere, not ever, not in the age that Sokrates documented Christian history from 305 to 439 AD. The same applies to Sunday. Get that straight. Sunday was not the day of worship of the worldwide Church of Jesus Christ throughout the centuries before or after. Period.
