Paul and Peter were only describing parts of the process that people go through when they are saved, @rvmb. They are not prescribing all of the steps of salvation, that is, telling them the exact steps they must go through. Paul's description leaves out repentance, but we know that we must repent as part of God's rescue, for example.
Do you think someone being abominable before God is listening to the Holy Spirit or being more like beast man in this video?

If you repent of your sins, but you are not born again, then you'll go to Hell, when you die... exaclty as if you never repented of your sins at all.
The road to Hell is paved with repenting water baptized very religious people.
Thats a fact.
So, the Mary-Cult "repent and be water baptized" false Gospel, is very prevailent amongst people who dont understand Salvation through the Cross of Christ by FAITH.
And the MaryCult is probably the worst offender ,and its certainly the largest religious cult that some consider "Christian".
And of course when we speak about these things, we are strictly speaking about the Mary Cult Doctrine and false Gospel, and 1500 yrs of False Popes, and so forth, while we understand and concur that many Catholics are the very finest Christians, and were some fo the greatest Saints.......... but their Church, their Doctrine,= is false and harmful and will keep you religious, water baptized, Mary obsessed, and lost.......if you're not careful.
Now, Here is the reality check for all you "repenters".....who believe that if you stop enjoying sin for a week, because you have a guilt trip and some idea that if you try to be good, God will take you and keep you.
The fact is, God wont even notice what you did........as the only thing you can give God that He'll receive from you, is your FAITH.
And so Reader, what exactly is the REPENTING that God requires from you, to then give you His Salvation?
Its not behaivor modification, reader........its this............to REPENT FROM YOUR UNBELIEF.

That means you have now become a BELIEVER, and God will take you, because you turned from unbelief (repented) and have now given God your FAITH = in CHRIST, that God requires from you, to save you.

Revenge is not alien to a human being.
Some humans wait half their life to "get revenge".
Some wait longer, and others get it, the very next day.
Also, Vengeance, is not exactly revenge, but when its God dealing out Judgment against unbelief, then its eternally justified.
2 Thess 1 8-9 (KJV).
Consider that HELL is not revenge against Christ Haters, and Christ Despisers, and Christ rejectors, but, its certainly a type of harsh eternal judgement against them, a type of HOLY and Righteous vengeance.
The verse says.....>"Its a FEARFUL thing to fall into the hands of the LIVING GOD".....and that verse means what it says.
= John 3:36 found them, and Heb 9:27 sent them into their eternal judgment.
2 Thess 1:8-9 is going to do this to all LIVING Christ rejectors at the 2nd Advent.

The KJV has Holy Spirit only 4X in the NT. And not once is it in the book of Acts.
The KJV also has Holy Ghost 89x in NT. And not once is it in the Book of Acts.

According to the teachings of Jesus via his goto Apostle for today - Paul, believers receive/are sealed with the Holy Spirit once they place their belief and trust in the One Gospel for today 1 Cor 15v1-4, Eph 1v13.
Prior to Paul being the Jesus appointed goto Apostle there were instances where the other Apostles had to lay hands on a believer and pray for them to receive the Holy Spirit Acts 8v14-18.
Today there are NO CIRCUMSTANCES where lay hands and pray are required for a believer to receive the Holy Spirit according to the teachings of Paul in Romans to Philemon.
This is another FACT that confirms the Gospel taught by Peter etc differs from that of Paul.
