Welcome brother and blessings. You will find that there is an errant hyper-dispensationist group on the forum that do not follow Jesus but only Paul. Instead of reconciling the words of Jesus and Paul, they divide them into a teaching that ignores the very words of Jesus himself. They teach that Jesus and Paul had two different gospels.
Why give the new person the wrong impression?
The difference is not in substance but as to who the ministry focused on.
I think you know that Christ Himself said I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Yeshua's ministry was to offer the Jews salvation first, which was only right. In that ministry were certain Jewish natures and customs, like worshiping on the Saturday Jewish Sabbath in the Temple....sacrifices....You remember the instance with the money changers. And their observance to some Mosaic Laws.
The reconciling is the process of salvation that is the same for both ministries.
But there were changes.....lots of them.....Yeshua directed the Apostles Paul's ministry to the Gentiles. Yeshua never said you had to be a Jew first (circumcision} before you could be a Christian, but the Jewish-Christians were insisting on it and harassed Paul's ministry over it. That was settled at the first Christian Council in Act 15. The Apostle James issued a letter. That letter did not say the Jewish-Christians had to change and it did not say the Gentile-Christians had to change.
So the Jewish-Christians and Gentile-Christians practiced the faith differently. Notable differences with the Gentile-Christians....
The Jews did not allow Gentile-Christians in the Temple.
Gentile-Christians did not continue to sacrifice animals.
For Gentile-Christians circumcision had no religious significance.
The Gentile-Christians did not observe Jewish dietary guidelines.
The Gentile-Christians did not adopt the Jewish letter of divorcement process.
The Gentile-Christians brought their customs into Christianity, notably the wedding ceremonies.
The Gentile-Christians eventually changed their weekly holy day to Sunday, the Lord's Day.
The Gentile-Christians worshipped Yahweh and Yeshua, and the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit---the helper, became the conduit of divine communication---Pentecost.
Ultimately the Jewish-Christians died out and the Gentile-Christian took over the helm of the Church.
The Apostle Paul defined Christian theology in detail.
The difference is in the practical. Yeshua was not going to tell the Jews that had multiple wives that they had to divorce some of them to be Christian. And in fact neither Yeshua or the Apostle Paul put an end to polygamy or concubinage. But polygamy and concubinage was not a custom of the Pagans. So the Gentile-Christians had little interest in it.
