So, the Watchtower believes that 6xalvdq4mcwg1.jpegthe Bible is an organizational book and does not belong to individuals, because ONLY "Jehovah's visible organization" can interpret the Bible. Can we say BLASPHEMY?

Thanks for the post. Why not look instead for those beliefs we have in common and ways we can work together in the world? As for “blasphemy,” Romans 14 asks us to be gentle with others:

1. Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.

5 One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind.6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord.
7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. 8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. 11 It is written:

“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
‘every knee will bow before me;
every tongue will acknowledge God.’”
12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another.

Peace be with you.

I tried that conversation with Aunty Jane and Keiw, but they didn't listen, because as far as their concerned, they have the truth so there's no sense to listening to what I have to say. Kind of hard to have a conversation with someone like that. So apparently they blocked me.

As to Romans 14, we're not debating sabbaths or holy days, we're debating truth and God's plan of salvation, which I believe the scriptures teach Jesus died a ransom for all, while the Witnesses are taught that Jesus died for some

13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another.
Sorry Bob, but the whole JW theology is about judgment; Witnesses have been dooming and glooming for the past 100 years, with their
"join us or die" attitude.

Thanks for the detailed reply.

Yes, there are members of this forum with whom there is little point in conversing, but that doesn’t mean if we were working on the same project we couldn’t find common ground (although it might not be easy). As to the JW’s, they don’t seem to be the only group that insists their beliefs are the only ones leading to salvation. But surely they are not as the Muslims, who believe in the forceful conversion of all ”non-believers.”

Anyway, thanks again for engaging.
