Jesus prayed to His Father in heaven. You seem mixed up?Matthew 26:39
And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”
Jesus prayed to His Father in heaven. You seem mixed up?
People who don't understand what they believe say wrong things. I see it on here often. Your question is one that Jws ask. Christianity does not teach that Jesus is His own Father. That's just stupid. But God is Jesus and Jesus is God. They are one-in-the-same. or so I'm told. Jesus and the Holy Spirit are both just God putting on a different outfit, so to speak. All three have eternally existed because, after all, all three are actually God. At least this is what most Christians teach.
So my question again is, why did God pray to himself?
Your question is theologically confused.
Ok I see your Q now-
Did God pray to Himself? No.
Jesus is God's unique SON. He was on the earth praying to His Father in heaven.
His mother was Mary and His Father is God.
So who do you say He is?
I say what the scriptures say- The Word was with God and was God.
He was in the beginning with God before anything was created. Nothing was created without Him.
He came down from heaven-
The Word became flesh. God with us.
They called him Jesus- meaning (YHWH is salvation)
He humbled Himself, emptied Himself and became a servant.
The fullness of God dwelt within Him.
God was in Christ reconciling Himself to us.
Great is the mystery of godliness....
I don't know what shepherdsword believes But honestly- do you think it's a good idea to try to antagonize a brother in Christ? That's what I thought but I've been assured that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all God. We should ask @Sheperdsword. His understanding is infallible.
It would be nice if individuals who sincerely wanted to express their confusion, ask questions, and learn would do so politely.I don't know what shepherdsword believes But honestly- do you think it's a good idea to try to antagonize a brother in Christ?
I will just ask you this- If Jesus was here standing in front of you now- would you bow in complete worship of HIM?
I sure would!
I don't know what shepherdsword believes...[/B]
Those who just want to stir up strife and mock the Bible are clearly seen.
to argue this is just not worth it.
People think it's worth it.
In the end it's a lost cause.
You decide for yourself at the end of the day...
Why did Jesus pray to himself.
That's what I don't understand.
If Jesus and God are the same entity,
Then why is Jesus praying to himself.
It is more reasonable to say that Jesus and God are two separate entities, then it makes sense that Jesus is praying to God.
Otherwise if they are the same entity then it makes no sense that Christ is praying to himself.
After all Jesus claimed to be the son of God several times. How can one be son of himself or how can one be father of himself. Not possible. To me it's obviously 2 seperate entities, the father and the son
Jesus never prayed to Himself. He prayed to His Father in heaven. Why did Jesus pray to himself.
See aboveThat's what I don't understand.
"Jesus" is the SON OF GOD. He prayed to HIs FATHER. Why can't you get that? "JESUS" was born with a body on the EARTH- He had a human mother---and His Father was God. Now if you can't comprehend this distinction- I'm not sure how else to make it clear. If Jesus and God are the same entity,
Then why is Jesus praying to himself.
Maybe if you asked better questions. If you are speaking about Jesus on earth that's one thing....It is more reasonable to say that Jesus and God are two separate entities, then it makes sense that Jesus is praying to God.
Clear your head, will ya? lol ------ WHO WAS HIS DADDY?Otherwise if they are the same entity then it makes no sense that Christ is praying to himself.
Look- Since you can't seem to ask the right questions I will do it for you..After all Jesus claimed to be the son of God several times. How can one be son of himself or how can one be father of himself. Not possible. To me it's obviously 2 seperate entities, the father and the son
I share your view.
Did the Father create the Son? How about the Holy Spirit?
Is Jesus God the Father? Or are they two distinct entities?
Romans 8The Holy Spirit is simply Gods spirit.
I understand that.
But I could never understand how Jesus can be God.
