Oh I love that guy @Debp. He's really awesome and to the point. He doesn't mess around.
Dr. Jeremiah also offers a free devotional magazine. It has a few articles and some short daily devotionals. The magazine has a different subject each month. @Riven in case you like to read.

Also @Riven have you found a good Bible teaching church? You might visit a few to find one that you like. Ones that teach the Scriptures and where the congregations are loving.

Good luck my friend. I am in a similar boat
Hi, welcome. Check out suggestions we gave to @Riven I think it's best to try to keep things simple, especially when you are a new Christian.

Pray, read the New Testament a little each day, find a good church. A church that believes in the Bible as God's inspired Word and where the congregation is loving.

In addition to a good church, check out Counter Media UK for a lovely fellowship group with live chat, prayer and spiritual things. Usually daily livestreams except for weekends. I have fellowshipped with them since Christmas.

This was our Good Friday fellowship.

I mean, I have some basic knowledge I picked up during my time in a Christian school. But the thing is, I've never actually lived as a Christian before; so much of this is new to me.

I have difficulty with prayer. I find myself struggling to begin because I just don't know what to say or how to say it. Any help with this, as well as advice about anything else, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. :gd
Send me a private message. I would love to discuss prayer with you. I can also recommend some wonderful reading on the subject

I usually start with, "Hello/Howdy Lord, I am starting to pray to You, and I need help as to how I should pray."

Just treat your prayer like having a conversation with a good friend, which requires us to both speak and to listen during the conversation otherwise the conversation breaks down.

Hi, maybe you can start a topic on prayer? Thanks for considering it.

Do you think that starting a topic on prayer could become a discussion about how we have all experienced God through prayer? I'm sure there is plenty of variety, method, and opinion. That would be useful., Or would it quickly degenerate into a debate? My guess, is that it wouldn't get much traction at all. What do you think?

I wouldn't know where to begin. Its a very personal thing, which of course is why I suggested a private conversation. I am unworthy to speak on the topic publicly, but I will give your suggestion some thought, and prayer. :-)

HI Riven,

I find that I start my prayer with the Lord with much thanksgiving.

Thank you Lord for my health, for food, for this place I live in, for my hubby, for purpose, for coming to know you more each day as I read your word. I thank you for my brothers and sisters in Christ, for being able to talk on the forums, ......

You`ll have your own things to give thanks and praise Jesus for.

I look around at nature where I live and contemplate God`s infinite wisdom in creating it all. I settle my mind and emotions and then pray for any people who I know need help and any problems and needs I have.

Then going about my day I know that the Lord will quicken, highlight to me anything I said was not good, or give my understanding of a problem I have. I just trust God to be God and me, just His child.

KISS - Keep it simple sweetie.

If you plan on starting a discussion on prayer, Brother @RedLetterJoe, please place it in the spiritual forum. I will be looking forward to that discussion as a PW, Thanks. :coff
Thank you. As it turns out, I dropped a cross tie on my foot the other day, and I have some time on my hands. God be praised, no broken bones.

What is a cross tie? Is it a wheel brace?

simply Jesus taught us how to pray its all in these verses;

Pray sincerely, not with empty repetition — Matthew 6:7–8
‘Our Father…’ an example given us. (the Lord’s Prayer) — Matthew 6:9–13
Forgive others when you pray — Mark 11:25
Ask, seek, knock — keep praying — Matthew 7:7–8
Pray believing — Mark 11:24
Pray with faith, not doubt — Matthew 21:21–22
Pray for those who persecute you — Matthew 5:44
Watch and pray so you won’t fall into temptation — Matthew 26:41
Pray always and don’t lose heart — Luke 18:1
Pray humbly, not self-righteously — Luke 18:10–14
Pray in Jesus’ name — John 14:13–14
Pray for God’s will above your own — Luke 22:42

Blessings.
