How can you believe Christ rose from the dead?

When last have you read or listened to a Resurrection apologist? Read or heard one who writes or speaks about anything other than ‘Historical Evidence’ or indication or implication that Jesus rose from death and the grave? Evidence regularly in terms of one or another ‘post-resurrection timeline’?

Who has listened to or read a book by an apologist about the fact that Jesus was the Christ, ‘because the Bible tells me so’?

Why not believe that Jesus resurrected because the Bible says and proves, that He indeed did? If the Bible does prove Christ resurrected according to the Scriptures”. it’s silly not to believe, because the proof already cannot be but divine truth and indisputable of irrefutable Divine Deity.

To believe the Word of God gives every and all Evidence, not only needed, but possible, to confess, Yes, I believe! I believe being persuaded through the Written Word the Bible of the historic, Risen Christ of God. All facts agree and support and confirm one another.

It means, instead of belief based on the experience, of others, after Jesus had died, it is Faith, in Christ Himself, according to the Scriptures only, about the Christ before, He became the Man Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ Himself.

I believe the Scriptures and the Christ therein according to the New Testament and the Christ therein witnessed and attested reciprocally. The New Testament is the proof of the Old Testament, and the Old Testament is the proof of the New Testament. Of both Christ is the proof and the Holy Spirit the Indispensable Witness.

I therefore believe that the Bible is literally and in every respect the Divine and Inspired Written Word of God.

The Jesus Saviour of his people submits to the Test Of Scripture for His Divinity and Deity, not to humans trying to prove their feelings.

I agree that the resurrection of Christ must never be reduced to human argument, historical theory, or apologetic technique. The final authority is not the scholar, the apologist, or the reconstruction of a timeline. The final authority is the written Word of God.

Paul says plainly, “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” ~1 Corinthians 15:3-4. That is the foundation. The resurrection is not a religious feeling. It is not wishful thinking. It is the declared truth of God.

At the same time, Scripture itself gives eyewitness testimony as part of that truth. Paul goes on to say Christ “was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve” and then “seen of above five hundred brethren at once” ~1 Corinthians 15:5-6. Luke also says Jesus “shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs” ~Acts 1:3.

So I would not set Scripture against evidence, because the evidence God chose to preserve for us is written in Scripture. The issue is authority. We do not believe because man has managed to prove God right. We believe because God has spoken, and His Word gives the true witness concerning His Son.

Jesus Himself pointed men back to the Scriptures. After His resurrection He said, “These are the words which I spake unto you... that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me” ~Luke 24:44.

I believe Christ rose from the dead because Scripture says He did, because the prophets pointed to Him, because the apostles witnessed Him, because the tomb could not hold Him, and because God has testified concerning His Son.

“And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins” ~1 Corinthians 15:17. But Christ is risen, and that is not speculation. That is the Word of God.

CGE replies:
Really an inspiring and encouraging statement of faith. I fully agree with every word you
say and appreciate the way in which you said it.

Scholars of renown must come and read. To be frank, never heard the big men 'apologize' for Jesus' resurrection like this. Really, and you may list them all. On the other hand, I still have to meet those or that one master scholar, who says, Look at Jesus like He apologized for Himself in Luke 24! "How the Christ ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES, THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS AND THE PSALMS, had to suffer and be crucified AND : the third day RISE!"

That's why I had to start this thread.

Thanks and God bless
I agree with the point of your thread. Let the scholars speak if they will, but let every scholar, preacher, teacher, and apologist stand under the Word of God. Jesus Christ rose from the dead according to the Scriptures, and that is where faith must stand.

God bless you, too.
