A PREPARATION DAY IS NOT JUST THE FRIDAY BEFORE THE SATURDAY SABBATH

[Ezekiel 45:21 KJV] "In the first [month], in the fourteenth day of the month, ye shall have the passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten."
[Matthew 26:17 KJV] "Now the first [day] of the [feast of] unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?"
[Luke 22:1 KJV] "Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover." ************ These verses all reflect the fact that the feast of unleavened bread is also called the Passover

[John 19:13 KJV] "When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha."
[John 19:14 KJV] "And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!"
[John 19:15 KJV] "But they cried out, Away with [him], away with [him], crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar." ******************** A preparation day was the day they prepared for the weekly sabbath or a feast. John, in verse 14, says that this was the preparation of the passover. Passover includes the entire feast of unleavened bread. The feast of unleavened bread started Wednesday, Nissan the 14th, when they prepared the passover meal. The feast of unleavened bread extends until the 21st of Nissan. Thursday, Nissan the 15th, was a high day of the feast of unleavened bread.

[John 19:31 KJV] "The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and [that] they might be taken away." *************** This preparation day is the preparation of the passover, not the weekly Friday preparation day before the Saturday sabbath. This was Thursday, Nissan the 15th, the first day of the seven days of the feast of unleavened bread. Because it was a high day sabbath the Jews didn't want them to remain on the cross.

A preparation day was the day they prepared for the weekly sabbath or a feast
There was no preparation day before a festival sabbath, the Torah allowed all the work necessary for them to prepare and eat the Feast to be done on the festival sabbath day per Exodus 12:16. The only day on the Jewish calendar that required a preparation day the day before was the weekly sabbath, even if it was a feast day and the commandments for the feast allowed that work. Thus the weekly Sabbath that fell on a feast day was a "high day" because it overrode all other commandments.
The feast of unleavened bread started Wednesday, Nissan the 14th, when they prepared the passover meal. The feast of unleavened bread extends until the 21st of Nissan.

Nisan 14 was the Passover. The Feast of Unleavened Bread began on Nisan 15 (the first day a sabbath) and ended on Nisan 21 (the seventh day a sabbath). By your reckoning of Unleavened Bread spanning from Nisan 14 to Nisan 21 you have Unleavened Bread eight days long instead of seven: "In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days you must eat unleavened bread." (Leviticus 23:5-6)

Ain't no Christian Sabbath!!
I don't agree. The Christian Sabbath is "today, if you will hear his voice," you too can cease from your own works and rest in the finished work of Christ. (Hebrews 4)

Just as God "rested" (ceased) from His own works of the old physical creation because His work was finished, so too Jesus at the moment of his death "rested" (ceased) from his own works of the new spiritual creation because his work was finished.

And just as God invited His Old Covenant people to "enter into His rest" and cease from their physical creation labors as God had from His, so too His New Covenant people are invited to "enter into Jesus' rest" and cease from our own works of spiritual creation labors and rest in the finished work of Christ that alone reconciles us with God and breathes into our nostrils the spirit of God and brings us to new creation life in this "new thing" God is doing in the earth. (Isaiah 43:19) "Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness of this world, and rivers of living water in this dry and thirsty land." (paraphrased)

So there is a rest that remains for the children of God. It's not a temporary "day" of rest that requires us to cease from our rest and return to work the following day, it is an Eternal Shabbat in which we will never have to labor again.

Have you considered how the Jewish feasts foreshadowed the timing of Jesus' death & resurrection?

There is a very good Youtube video called "EVERY FEAST OF ISRAEL EXPLAINED: THE PROPHETIC CALENDAR GOD BUILT AROUND JESUS"

@Pilgrimer @Doug

I think you guys are getting the Last Supper mixed up with the actual Passover Meal.
And Passover is always and forever on Nisan 15. It is tracked by the Moon 15 days after the New Moon or No Moon.
The Passover meals were occurring around the time Yeshua was on the cross. So of course He could not attend. So Yeshua had a Seder meal with His apostles Thursday evening and we call that the Last Supper. And there was a day of preparation for that meal. And while Yeshua was being Judged the apostles had not eaten the actual Passover meal yet.

Why didn't Jesus have His disciples executed as the Law COMMANDS? They worked on the Sabbath and Jesus was with them!

Exodus 31:15 Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

Well and Yahweh impregnated and woman that was betrothed. And according to the Mosaic Law that is adultery.

But no offence occurred. It is kind of like the Policeman that pass you at 110 MPH.
