I find in my bible that Christ chose Peter, and Christ chose Paul. Neither of them is alive on earth today, but both of them were used by God as the human "penmen" of His word. That word is for us today; we have no right to take the letters of Peter out of the bible.

Jesus and paul taught the same gospel. John confirmed it. As did Peter and the rest of them, remembering that this same Jesus gave the message to peter and the other ten to go out and give to the world.

I agree that Paul was mainly the apostle to the Gentiles, though he did preach to Jews as well, and Peter was mainly an apostle to the Jews, though he did preach to Gentiles as well. But the title of your thread is not about Jews and Gentiles, but about now and then: "Christ chose Paul for today not Peter etc." There are still Jews alive today as well as Gentiles. Besides, God inspired both Peter and Paul to write Scripture. Are you really saying that the epistles of Peter have nothing to teach Christians who are Gentiles, or that the epistles of Paul have nothing to teach Christians who are Jews?

The bible, as far as I am aware, did not select any of the apostles as the apostle and minister to me in the 21st century. All of the apostles went to glory about two thousand years ago. Certainly God used some of them (Peter, Paul, James, John etc.) is the human penmen of the New Testament, and thus their words speak to Christians today, but the verses you quote are about the preaching of Peter and Paul, not their writings.

True, so what is your problem. Peter focused more on the Jews and ministered to gentiles as well. Paul was called to the gentiles but ministered to the Jews as well.

Teaching a Jew is much different than teachng a gentile so different approaches are needed which is why God for the most part divided the work as He did.

As much as some people don't like it, there were more or less two Christian denominations in biblical times, Jewish-Christians and Gentile-Christians.
The "Twelve Apostles" were Jewish-Christians and converted and preached mostly to Jewish-Christians. Yeshua said to Peter on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it” (More to the story of the word Hades.)

They practiced Christianity different than Gentile Christians, they still valued the 613 Mosaic Laws, they worship and sacrificed in the Temple on the Jewish Saturday Sabbath and considered wedding ceremonies pagan. (There is more to the story) They still practiced the letter of divorcement in ending their marriages.

Paul was the apostle to the Gentiles (Pagans). At some point Peter befriended Paul and joined his ministry. Peter participated at the first Christian council in Jerusalem with James and backed Paul up. Tradition has it that Peter and Paul were martyred together.

The Gentile-Christian did not observe the Mosaic Laws and were not allowed in the temple and did not sacrifice animals. They eventually centered on the day that Yeshua resurrected and made Sunday the Lord's Day. As we practice now. The Gentiles brought the custom of wedding ceremonies into Christianity and voluntary weddings occurred until the 16th century when the Protestants made church wedding ceremonies a requirement to be married. The Gentile-Christians did not have a process of divorcement. Paul wrote or influenced 2/3 of the New Testament. Peter was part of Paul's ministry group and Luke was not an Apostle but a disciple of Paul and Luke wrote the Gospel of Luke and Acts. Paul more or less gave us the details of Christian theology.
