Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

In me first << simple enough
to them which should hereafter <<< where's the end date ? :)
True, but that is Paul talking about himself as an example, not about his preaching or his writings. What is your real point in all your postings about this matter? Do you really believe that Christians today who are Gentiles should only read Paul's epistles, and those parts of Acts which deal with Paul, and that the rest ofthe New Testament is only for Jews?

Do you consider yourself to be one of "" them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.""

Yes I do, but as I said, Paul is talking in that verse about being an example. He is not talking about listening to his preaching, or about his being an apostle. The verse does not lend support to your idea that Gentile Christians today should only heed the words of Paul - at least, that is how I understand your many posts on this subject. If I am wrong, I do apologise.

Great, then Paul is your Apostle and not the 12.
And since Paul was the FIRST and you are the NEXT then you are saved by the teachings of Christ through Paul :)

How are believers 'today' saved, sealed, justified, made righteous ?
By the SAVING Gospel that applies today.
Gal 1:11-12
11But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Cor 15:1-4
1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Eph 1:13
13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

The PERFORMANCE conditions :-

Gal 2:
16Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Rom 3:
28Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Eph 2:

8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Rom 4:

You just keep repeating the same thing. How does Paul saying that he is an example to Christians in his future mean that he is an apostle to those Christians? How does it mean that I, as a Christian who happens to be a Gentile, should only take note of the parts of the bible written by Paul, as you seem to imply?

I'm repeating what Scripture teaches, if you believe otherwise then list the verses and let Scripture do the arguing for you

That's what I try to do. I have yet to see any verse of Scripture that tells me that Paul is an apostle today, or that he is the only apostle to Gentile Christians today, or that Gentile Christians should only take Paul's writings as their New Testament. Paul himself wrote:

(2Ti 3:16) All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
(2Ti 3:17) that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

He didn't write: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, but only those parts written by me are applicable to Gentile Christians."
