Perhaps the Lord allowed this to happen to test the pastor's faith and found that he had fallen short. It is clear from the video that I saw that the pastor said he had been hassling him for years. This should have been dealt with earlier instead of ignoring it. There should have been a prayer group praying for the man. They could have helped him in some way through covering his personal needs. There is so much that a church could do for a man like that.
We don't know that this was not done by those in the church.
Consider the disciples and even the Lord himself, who was taken to the cross that day; how many bystanders and others called out, "Crucify him" or "If you are the Son of God, send Elijah or someone to help you down"? But he said nothing. The Bible says we are to take up our cross and follow Him. It means to let ourselves die, crucify ourselves, and follow Jesus. The above situation, where a man enters another's house, had not happened. This man was just yelling out obscenities to the pastor. It was the pastor who became physical, and that changed the whole outcome.
Perhaps the pastor thought, since the authorities charged with prosecuting man's law did nothing about this threat for years, despite the pastor reporting the offender, that if he did to the terrorist what the domestic terrorist yet again threatened to do to the pastors wife and babies, beat them, the domestic terrorist would realize the sheep he'd been terrorizing for years actually had the ability to fight back.
All of you who judge this pastor have no idea what he and his congregation suffered from this man making terroristic threats for years,as reported.
You stand on your Bibles and insist others behave as you believe is righteous in the face of violent evil.
You insist, if someone, like the young man in the report, breaks into our home with the intention of beating our family, raping our wife and daughters, and ultimately act to slaughter the lot of us afterward, that you believe those under attack should take it!
And not fight back. Because you must please Jesus and agree to be destroyed by evil.
Because God,you think, would be disappointed if you didn't.
Some even try to lead others to believe God in the Old Testament isn't every bit of who he said he was.
When he led his faithful to war. Slaughtered the unborn, infants, children, women, men.
All in an effort to extol the virtues of pacifism in the face of evil?
Amos 3
6.Is a trumpet blown in a city,
and the people are not afraid?
Does disaster come to a city,
unless the Lord has done it?
Jesus was God the Father of the Old Testament. If we're Christ like as Christians, when Christ came to conquer evil,we aren't suppose to concede to the power of evil and let it overcome those who are Christ like. Not when Christ is a war God who stands against evil.
Do not resist an evil person?
You all preach what others should do. Succumb to violence without resistance.
But would you really let a man break into your house and rape your wife in front of you,and do nothing to stop him?
If so,guess what?
You're the evil person.
Proverbs 25:26
Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.
