Revelation 3:11) Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. How often do we as people in a society that is immoral and sinful, forget to hold fast the principle which we are taught? How can we live a life pleasing to God if we let the world manipulate and affect our way of thinking? The “course of this world” is destruction. We are not appointed to wrath, but as for those caught in the captivity of the world and its ways, damnation and fire everlasting. We live in a reality where good is considered bad and bad is considered good. To “take thy crown”, the world tries to do because “that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God”. The world teaches that a little bad is acceptable, but the biblical standard, on the contrary, no evil is acceptable. The world teaches self and self- focus, but the biblical principle, on the contrary, we should live to do the will of God and be obedient to him. So can there be mix of worldliness and spiritualism in ones life that is acceptable? No because “whosoever therefore will be a friend with the world is the enemy of God”. So what is worldliness equated to, sinfulness and spiritual idleness, yes. This is why the doctrine taught in many churches have flaws and holes causing people to stumble. Because they have abandoned or weakened the strict doctrine written when teaching the sheep of the congregation, and therefore acting unexpectedly “in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. ” When churches let erroneousness in, they are pushing out Christ. “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock”. How many churches are missing that message and that call? Many, and the few of many have it correct. Discernment is key, search in the scriptures and trust not every person or word that flies through the ears because that is where people err. “The word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword”, but when one is not knowledgeable about the word, what sword have they? Through what truth are they sanctified? The world will choke out the word, just look at Matthew 13. The threat is hidden, but the truth is not. “She cieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors”, we just simply have to turn to it and accept it. Not manipulate it, configuring it to our own ways, but accept it and take it to heart.

Copper that was a good post. You are right, when we accept God have to make the choice between two sides, we have one that is evil. One that is good. Which will we choose? Some people try to take the "best of both worlds" Love God, love sinning. We need to accept God's calling and choose him over everything sinful.
