    I don't understand why JESUS CHRIST real name was translated. Can't HIS real name be pronounced by us?
    Jesus Christ is fine to call upon in English. I think it's just important for folks to know at least a little of the underlying Hebrew and Greek because there is so much there in his name.
    Matthew 1 gives the name of The Messiah and it is not Messiah.
    In English it is "God With us" No find the Hebrew translation of "God with us" and you will find the name of the Messiah.

    The "J" was erroneously translated by German scholars. (Jehovah was also incorrectly done.) His real transliteration would be more along the lines of "Yeshua" or "Yahshua" (think Joshua with a Y). Christ comes from Gr. Christos is the Greek form of the Hebrew word Messiah meaning anointed one. Let me know if you'd like for me to create a thread and explain more fully...
    Judd, Jesus Christ comes to us from the Greek (and ultimately Hebrew) but it's a little inaccurate. The Greek name is Iesous (Ιησους if you have the Greek alphabet installed).
