We cannot choose good without Christ. Every choice outside the Garden is a lesser choice. Our curse is that we are slaves to the lesser choice or sin. Christ came to show us God's love which break through our dualistic mindset - love frees us from our futile attempts to determine right and wrong, which is God's right alone.

Amen! But if we love WITHOUT trying to judge this as right and this as wrong, as the good Samaritan, God sees our hearts, and this pleases him. In Christ, we are called to a higher righteousness. :)

By that, I mean we are called to a higher level than the good Samaritan. :)

we do not compare ourselves with others....we compare ourselves with God's call and destiny for our lives. This can be measured by the heart changes that occur during the process of personal sanctification and is reflected in the fruit we bare daily...

The call in Christ is to attain Christ himself, thus that is what we compare to. :) Not in a way that is condemning, but rather in the sense of aiming there. It is what provides our direction; conformity to Christ! Then we go as far as we go, and let God be the judge!

Attaining Christ himself is a free gift through repentance and forgiveness. The beginning of our walk with the Savior of the world...we become more like Jesus as we allow the work of the cross to be applied in our lives..."Praise his mighty and glorious name...no condemnation...

Attaining Christ cannot be the beginning of our walk, it is an impossibility, because Paul, though he had seen the light, and preached to many, said 'I have not yet attained' and 'I press on'. He also said he 'strove to apprehend that for which Christ apprehended him'. In other words, Christ gets our attention to we would... do what gets his, be as he is! The free gift is grace entrance into the race... There is indeed no condemnation... For those who walk accordin...

He is speaking of his on-going walk in Christ...the process of sanctification. A work that will continue as long as Paul was in the body of his flesh...
