  • The idea of sola Scriptura is that there is only one written source of divine revelation, which can never be placed on a parallel status with confessional statements, creeds, or the traditions of the church. Scripture alone has the authority to bind the conscience precisely because only Scripture is the written revelation of almighty God. ~ R.C. Sproul

If only there were a fail-safe way of sharing this with those who place so much emphasis (and their salvation) on man-made traditions which are worthless, instead of on God's word which gives life.

Great quote. Barkley, the best inroads I have found for that case is to share how we read Scripture sacramentally.
"Teaching theology to a heathen will not bring him to faith in Christ. He may learn the evangelical vocabulary and verbally affirm the truth. He may accept the truth and a list of gospel facts. But without a divine miracle, to open his blind eyes and give him a new heart, he will only be a theologically informed pagan, Not A Christian." - John McArthur
If you want to see and walk in the miraculous, change your heart. Have a heart like a child. Believe and take God at his word. Do not allow your logic to overwhelm any situation you may be facing. Miracles happen when you believe that God can and will move according to your faith. Even if it is just a mustard seed. That is 100% guaranteed!

A man may study because his brain is hungry for knowledge, even Bible knowledge. But he prays because his soul is hungry for God. ~ Leonard Ravenhill
"Let's quit fiddling with religion and do something to bring the world to Christ." ~ Billy Sunday
"God is looking for broken men who have judged themselves in the light of the cross of Christ. When He wants anything done, He takes up men who have come to the end of themselves, whose confidence is not in themselves, but in God." ~ H.A. Ironside

The Gospel is eternal, but we haven't got eternity to preach it, we only have as long as we live to reach those who live as long as we live. ~ Reinhard Bonnke
"Great truths that are stumbling blocks to the natural man are nevertheless the very foundations upon which the confidence of the spiritual man is built." ~ H. A. Ironside
You may find hundreds of faultfinders among professed Christians; but all their criticism will not lead one solitary soul to Christ. ~ D.L. Moody
“Out of one hundred men, one will read the Bible, the other ninety-nine will read the Christian.” ~ D. L. Moody
Have you noticed how much praying for revival has been going on of late - and how little revival has resulted? I believe the problem is that we have been trying to substitute praying for obeying, and it simply will not work. ~ A.W. Tozer

Jesus has always answered and given me whatsoever things I ask of Him whenever I've prayed for His Will to be done in me :) I am Revived! Praising Jesus Forever!
Human nature, if it is healthy, demands excitement; and if it does not obtain its thrilling excitement in the right way, it will seek it in the wrong. God never makes bloodless stoics; He makes no passionless saints. ~ Oswald Chambers
Having the answers is not essential to living. What is essential is the sense of God's presence during dark seasons of questioning. ~ Rav Zacharias
“I want to preach the gospel so plainly that men can come from the factories and not have to bring a dictionary.” ~ Billy Sunday

Many pastors criticize me for taking the Gospel so seriously. But do they really think that on Judgment Day, Christ will chastise me, saying, 'Leonard, you took Me too seriously'? ~ Leonard RavenHill

Every day has it's challenges but not one day goes by without God's enabling power working through those who believe in him by faith. Who diligently wait upon him, seeking the best course of action in every situation....Isaiah 40:31
