Run that by me again, Moses

I will. Sure enough - the Old Testament prophets didn't use words that didn't exist yet! They do, however, speak of "the Angel of the LORD" and "The Word of the Lord" and "The Spirit of the Lord." This isn't quite the slam-dunk you make it out to be. And I'm not even a Trinitarian by your...

Why We Dont See Casting Out of Devils

Mmmm... Psyche is not always Pneuma, though they're related I'll grant. Double-minded is not exactly two-spirited. Psyche is the innate way of a man. Pneuma inhabits a man, but it's external to him in its source. Your grammar is poor here. Both verses may use the same root word, but they...

Run that by me again, Moses

The Hebrew word translated "prophet" is Nebo/Nebu, which is the proper name of a foreign god. You probably know him (it?) as the Greek Hermes or Latin Mercury

Were Adam and Eve the first humans on Earth?

Well, then... perhaps you will address what I said in response to David, about how the New Testament itself does not find the genealogies of Genesis credible. The 2nd half of post #8.

Why We Dont See Casting Out of Devils

I don't think that's right. Do you have a Biblical basis for that statement? I'm thinking of... Matt 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Why We Dont See Casting Out of Devils

Well, many don't believe in them. And those who do mostly have a fundamental misunderstanding of what they are/do.

Were Adam and Eve the first humans on Earth?

You could take some notes from @David Lamb (post #4 here) who managed to disagree without being disrespectful, while actually citing Scriptures to back his disagreement, and while responding to the person he was disagreeing with. We don't need to agree, but please act like an adult.

Run that by me again, Moses

    I resemble that remark!

Were Adam and Eve the first humans on Earth?

I'm aware of the genealogies. Actually, I wrote several paragraphs about how the New Testament regards them as unreliable (post #8 in this topic).

Run that by me again, Moses

It's literally commandment #2. Don't use the Lord's name in vain - meaning don't speak for God unless He gave you that authority specifically. edit: in case it isn't clear, I'm sure Moses was legit in doing so

Run that by me again, Moses

I think I disagree. The New Testament's idea of an apostle is exactly the same thing.

Run that by me again, Moses

I looked at the Hebrew and the King James is a little confusing in its translation. My own rendering of verses 4-6: The LORD has not given you a heart to perceive, or eyes to see, or ears to hear, unto this day. And [He] has led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes haven't grown...

Were Adam and Eve the first humans on Earth?

None of them. But there are a few people here who like to say so.

Were Adam and Eve the first humans on Earth?

I don't think it's a "new way." It's right there in Genesis 15 where God tells Abraham he'll make him a 'Father of Goyim.' The bolded bit is a good point. The story of Esau underscores it. While clearly a natural son of Abraham, Esau did not inherit as a son because of unbelief. Part of...

The Ten Commandments are the Covenant, did you know?

In context, that passage is talking about changing the law for the making of priests - that they must be Levites, etc. The idea is that the new priesthood is after the order of Melchizedek, and not Levi.

Were Adam and Eve the first humans on Earth?

I track that, but I'm the one who doesn't think A&E were the first humans, so...

Were Adam and Eve the first humans on Earth?

I would think so. The latest science shows that their intelligence was on par with other humans, and that they interacted and interbred freely. That last bit makes them technically the same species.

The Ten Commandments are the Covenant, did you know?

I think you're talking about the original post, which isn't mine but... I do agree with it. The 10 commandments are part of the foundation of the New Covenant, as proclaimed in Jeremiah 31: But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I...

Were Adam and Eve the first humans on Earth?

In some ways it doesn't. It certainly doesn't fit the chronology that Genesis presents. In others it does. The story of a man forced out of his original habitation and into the wilderness is common to both Adam and Edom/Esau. It dovetails into details in Ezekiel and Job as well. If you...

Were Adam and Eve the first humans on Earth?

No, I think somebody (Ezra?) has edited Genesis to make it look like a history, when it's actually a collection of documents that shouldn't necessarily present a chronology. I understand that most people can't accept that, and I'm not trying to convince anyone here. But since they asked...
