The shutting down of Churches due to COVID

This might have been discussed already and it's a little bit of old news at this point, however I wanted to share what I noticed, my thoughts and get a sense of how others see this issue during the time the churches were closed down, which was early on, here the churches have been closed since...

Are all believers called to evangelize?

I agree, Paul would have been a teacher, evangelist, apostle, he was a definite evangelist, Peter, James, etc. They were all called by God. Thanks - your post is informative.

Are all believers called to evangelize?

I am using the Biblical definition of the word evangelism, found in the New Testament, in the Greek. This is part of the point I brought this up, the church has put their own definition on words, by using words as "witness", "evangelical church", when these are not part of the Biblical...

Are all believers called to evangelize?

What you are describing is not the definition of evangelist as described in the new testament. We are to give an account of our hope and being a witness is living a godly life. Sharing our testimony is a good thing too if God calls us to do so, but again, this is not an evangilist. Agreed. I...

Are all believers called to evangelize?

If all believers are to evangelize, why is there an office for it? I understand we are to give an account for the hope we have in us, be able to defend our faith and answer questions. Even sharing our faith and testimony to those whom God has called us to share it with, but not seeing where we...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

Would you agree the Church - as in the Body of Christ - is spiritual, but there are many who claim Christ, but are not apart of Him, so it appears the Church has failed but it really hasn't? I don't know if this is really the case or not, I have heard the case that a person is either in the Body...

    Why Matthew 5:29-30?

The way Jesus described putting away sin, or getting away from people who cause us to sin, is just such a different way of explaining it then say how John or Paul stated it. Stating it this way gives it a shock factor, immediately removal.

    Why Matthew 5:29-30?

So it is the cutting off of those things that harm spiritually? Why wouldn't Jesus just say something along those lines instead of cutting off limbs and poking out eyes? Or maybe when you cut off ungodly behaviors and actions, it shows the difficulty of doing so, because they are so ingrained...

    USA riots

Let's not forget all the black on black shootings in Chicago over the past few years, including this one. Here is a chart showing how many, by race are killed by police every year. Whites top the chart. People shot to death by U.S. police, by race 2020 | Statista

What does that have to do with the tea in China anyway? Ha Proof?

    USA riots

Cops kill white people, too, more of them, too. These killings never make national headlines because no one cares. As far as I know, they haven't released the race of the cop? Maryland man fatally shot by police 'while asleep in his bedroom'

    Why Matthew 5:29-30?

Matt 29-30 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your...

    Staying Positive!

Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Praise God, the only One worthy of it!

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

W do give up things that hinder our walk, behaviors, ideas, ourselves, but what is most painful is when God takes away. Only God knows how to do the molding, we can't mold ourselves.

If you don't Believe and like Prosperity you won't like Heaven.

You seek after that which satisfies the flesh. No growth in that.

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

I do understand what you are saying and agree, my thought was a balance. So true, I have learned we tend to take what God has not given us and we do what God has not told us to do (like touching a hot stove). Painful but we remember. Ha There appears to be a man made burden on both sides...
