    I never said it was! Read daniel 9:1 to 20. This tells us that he knew the exile must be nearly up BUT he also was aware of Lev 26 (the punishment multiplier) and was clearly entreating the Lord for mercy in not applying it. (Why else would he be so upset) The angel then gives us the timeline...

    Its actually quite similar to Daniel 9:24 when you think about it! That is also where you can find a precedent for a punishment multiplied by 7.
