The sign that the Pharisees were asking for is the proof that Jesus was the son of God. But Jesus said the only sign you will see is his death and resurrection, which would be too late for them. But the sign in Matthew 24:30 is talking about his return in Judgment against them.

If we did know what this sign is, would we accept it if it challenges our current views of eschatology?
