The words of God & of Christ are the doctrines that we must follow. Many has certainly twisted them by their own theological interpretations. Do or should   any of us accept man's word, when we have God's? The unity of " the faith" should be to those who believe & confess the deity of Jesus...

Those whom refuse to receive the instruction of the word of God will heap to themselves TEACHERS having itching ears, thereby choosing to DECEIVE themselves.

I have found folks  choose to either hear spiritually what is said, when we speak the word of God, or reject / refuse what is said. Then it becomes a case of " be it on your own head "!  I do think the Lord NO LONGER holds us responsible for the refusers of the truth in the word of God.
