    Dogmatic Christianity

    Please look up Lamentations 3:31.

Thanks. Here is another translation of the same verse. Daniel 12:2 Young's Literal Translation 2 `And the multitude of those sleeping in the dust of the ground do awake, some to life age-during, and some to reproaches -- to abhorrence age-during.

People say you can not lose faith, God can't lose you, is that true?

As Lamentations says "For no one is cast off by the Lord forever." If punishment is "eternal" then this verse is false.

People say you can not lose faith, God can't lose you, is that true?

As the parable of the lost sheep demonstrates, none are lost forever.

People say you can not lose faith, God can't lose you, is that true?

On what do you base the belief that Satan is no longer ruling this world?

    Dogmatic Christianity

Some perish, but not forever. If it's forever then the verses I mentioned above are false.

    Verse please.

How do you reconcile "the gates of Hell will NOT prevail" with Satan supposedly taking most of mankind to Hell with him?

I believe that Jesus was speaking figuratively. I understand that Hell is also known as Sheol. "Sheol, abode of the dead in the Hebrew Bible (the Christian Old Testament). The term can be interpreted to mean either the literal place in which dead people are placed (i.e., in the ground) or...

People say you can not lose faith, God can't lose you, is that true?

Emperors and kings say on elevated throwns and so their servants were "under their feet". 1 Corinthians 15 says that Jesus must rule the kingdom until ALL of his enemies are "under his feet", which is to say that they will have been converted and are following Jesus. That includes Satan and...

People say you can not lose faith, God can't lose you, is that true?

I was recently told by a member here that I have "accepted the mark" and that Jesus is going to make me "suffer" and all because I believe that Jesus will save all of humanity.

    Dogmatic Christianity

Oddly enough, the seemingly least dogmatic among us are the board moderators. On other "Christian" forums it's common for dogmatic moderators to ban others for not goose-stepping to their personal interpretations of the scriptures.

How do you reconcile "the gates of Hell will NOT prevail" with Satan supposedly taking most of mankind to Hell with him?

I like that statement but Hell means death, not the world. Jesus built his church and nothing can stop it because that is God's will.

People say you can not lose faith, God can't lose you, is that true?

I believe they too will be changed and saved. As 1 Corinthians 15 states, Jesus must rule until ALL enemies are "under his feet". Besides, Satan and the fallen angels and demons are doing exactly what God intended them to do. Also, we know that a good tree cannot produce bad fruit. Satan...

People say you can not lose faith, God can't lose you, is that true?

Yes, most Christians believe in forever punishment but that isn't scriptural, although many English translations erroneously state that some will suffer "eternally". Of course, their choice of that word is very flawed in that only God is eternal. Bad translations lead to bad doctrines.

    Dogmatic Christianity

It seems that you have glossed over what I wrote in my earlier response. Let me ask you another question. Do you believe that God's will can be circumvented?
  16. Patrick1966

    Dogmatic Christianity

I believe that "all men" means ALL men. :) And then Paul tells us that through Christ God was reconciling the WORLD to him and forgiving them for their trespasses. Again, is this the whole world or is it not the whole world? 2 Corinthians 5:19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the...

How do you reconcile "the gates of Hell will NOT prevail" with Satan supposedly taking most of mankind to Hell with him?

Perhaps. By the way, I'm not debating you. I'm only trying to convey my understanding to you. Sometimes that involves asking questions.

How do you reconcile "the gates of Hell will NOT prevail" with Satan supposedly taking most of mankind to Hell with him?

The gates will NOT prevail and Jesus will save ALL! Why? Because that's the way God has willed it to be! John 6:39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.
