I have my doubts that Catholicism is Christianity

Mainstream Christianity essentially teaches that one is saved by their recognition of Jesus as their Lord and Savior along with a genuine desire to follow him by obeying his commandments. Catholicism says that isn't enough. Catholicism says that one must be a member of THEIR church to be...

Judas Went to His Own Place – A Biblical Verdict of Eternal Judgment

Your arrogance blinds you. You are too pompous to consider the possibility that your understanding isn't infallible.

Judas Went to His Own Place – A Biblical Verdict of Eternal Judgment

You have a monolithic misunderstanding of God and of scripture and you are arrogant and while you wish to persuade others, you yourself are unwilling to be persuaded. Rather than considering other perspectives you viciously and personally attack the person sharing the perspective.

    Interesting preterist argument

In fairness to "Shade", I didn't hear him say that this part of Revelation has happened.

    Interesting preterist argument

Yes, he does. Honestly I don’t know what to make of all of it. It's an interesting topic.

    Interesting preterist argument

Some of what he says seems to ring true while some of it is, well, I'm not sure. It's interesting, as is all eschatology, but in the end none of it affects our salvation - in my opinion.

    Interesting preterist argument

I haven't watched it. I am inclined to believe that a lot of the stuff that we were taught would happen in the future actually applied to ancient Jerusalem and Israel. His channel is a fascinating listen.

The Church decided the canon. How do you know you have the correct canon?

Although I'm not Catholic I too have the unique gift of apostolic succession. Growing up my grandma told me that our family history goes all the way back to Saint Peter. Anyway, I have deemed that it is good and acceptable in God's eyes for us to pray to my dead dog that now lays at the feet of...

Before I read your post, can you tell me if you watched the video?

Judas Went to His Own Place – A Biblical Verdict of Eternal Judgment

Proverbs 12:1-25 "To learn the truth you must long to be teachable, or you can despise correction and remain ignorant". Mark 4:25 "For whoever has a teachable heart, to him more understanding will be given; and whoever does not have a yearning for truth, even what he has will be...

Judas Went to His Own Place – A Biblical Verdict of Eternal Judgment

Forever punishment is pointless and is contrary to the nature of God. It is a false doctrine. Take the verses you cited and use Young's Literal Translation to get better translations.

Judas Went to His Own Place – A Biblical Verdict of Eternal Judgment

It sounds like you believe in forever punishment.

Judas Went to His Own Place – A Biblical Verdict of Eternal Judgment

I don't share this belief. My understanding is that it usually means "age-during", as in a period of time.
