    Re: Sexually Immoral

Yeap there is no such thing as fornication in the Bible. The words wed and wedding do not appear in the scriptures either. No requirement of a wedding in the Bible. Wedding ceremonies are all Pagan customs. Christianity adopted wedding ceremonies when Gentiles entered Christianity. At that point...

    Re: Sexually Immoral

Preaching false beliefs and condemnation. Trophies on Satan's shelf! Other wise good church going Christians screaming in Hell because they preached some thing that turned a lot of people away from Christ and they went to Hell. That is the sort of thing that Satan loves. John and Bill are...

    Re: Sexually Immoral

It’s not OK to perpetuate false beliefs. The condemnation it causes can cause great sin. And the condemnation can turn people away from Christ. A sin that on judgment day can be damning.

    Re: Sexually Immoral

That is why I said to read the posts. A long essay on fornication. In short.....fornication is a Latin word that came out in the 4th century. Besides being a general word for sexual immorality it means that two single people having sex is a sin, when until the 16th century that was how people...

    Re: Sexually Immoral

No you are mostly on.....just a lot of info in the posts. The word fornication is a no no....it is not biblical and skews the meaning of the scriptures and reality. In the Jewish beliefs and culture for a man to have a lot of wives and children was seen as a blessing from God.

Hi there, I am not going to correct all this so you need to read through the posts.

    Re: Sexually Immoral

Absolutely not....you are making that up. Read the Estate of Marriage.

    Re: Sexually Immoral

I did not say that Abraham's righteousness was because of polygamy and the scriptures do not say he was righteousness in spite of polygamy.

    Re: Sexually Immoral

The scriptures do not indicate the same logic applies to polygamy. At no point do the scriptures indicate that polygamy is wrong, sinful, or broken. Again making me repeat myself.....I consider polygamy, concubinage, and slavery as wrong from the beginning. God had a different opinion. But...

    Re: Sexually Immoral

At the time there was only one woman. The scriptures do not say and men can only have one wife and Mosaic Law which was created by the same God regulated polygamy and concubinage. And I might add that God took credit for David's wives.

    Re: Sexually Immoral

Matthew 19:8 does not define polygamy as sinful. In fact no scripture associates polygamy with sin. Abraham was considered rightious and he had a wife and a concubine.

    Re: Sexually Immoral

Make me repeat myself. Genesis defines the process of how a man and a woman form a marrage without a wedding ceremony and when God creates the Mosaic Law He regulates polygamy and concubinage. And then Christ and the Apostles never say to stop polygamy and history proves they continued to...

    Re: Sexually Immoral

The Mosaic Laws were created by God and the Mosaic Laws regulated polygamy and concubinage. In Matthew chapter 19 Christ is talking to Jews about the Mosaic Laws and divorce and there is no telling how many wives those Jews had.

    Re: Sexually Immoral

Had a preacher tell me that the normal attraction that couples in love feel for each other is lust and so all marriages are formed by lust. That would be completely wrong. God described the process that is correct…. For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to...

    Re: Sexually Immoral

Fornication This is a prime example of why we should not make up words and stick them in the Bible, because they cause misunderstandings and false beliefs that can span over a thousand years. The word fornication or is not in the scriptures nor is its definition. It is a scam that is a...

    Re: Sexually Immoral

Yahweh defined marriage without a wedding ceremony in Genesis and then the Mosaic Law regulated polygamy and concubinage. And then the scriptures never ended the practice. Christians were allowed to practice polygamy and the Apostle Paul gave the one exception. Deacons could only have one wife...

I did not say that polygamy, concubinage and slavery are not going on in the world. I said Christianity eventually condemned it.
