Not odd at all. There's a difference between getting a good quality video of your family opening presents on Christmas morning, vs getting a good quality video of a chaotic event happening 200 yards away in the darkness, while driving.

It's because cell phones use wide angle lenses and therefore these videos always need to be cropped. With a wide angle lens everything appears further away than it is, so if you want to bring attention to something in the distance you have to crop the video and then you lose video quality.

There's also this other clip. Now keep in mind that the original video was taken from way across the street, with a wide angle lens, so this is a cropped version, in order to focus in on the interesting part, which means it's blurry. Plus, I converted it into a gif to make it easier to share...

Not sure what kind of plastic bags they have in Australia, but I've never seen a plastic bag move that fast and that straight. And besides, in that same video there were several more orbs seen inside the car, but those weren't as clear so I didn't bother showing those.
