Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

I see a very different picture. I see the fathers getting revelations as they dream dreams, as the young men and women see visions and prophesy through the Spirit Who poured on them. Yes with past documented revelations as well that were given to Abraham, Moses, David, Joel and many others.

"Is excessive interpretation the root cause of differences in understanding and doctrinal divisions in the Bible?"

By the term, the entire Word of God do you mean Jesus the Christ, the Word Who became flesh? Or, the entire word of God as in every word that proceeds from the mouth of God? I'm trying to correctly interpret what you are saying.

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

Yes, as Jesus the Head gives to His body through His Spirit. But don't hold your breath. Many groups of people who identify as Christians will not receive prophecy, so the Spirit will not give His precious gifts to swine.

    Hell's Population Clock

We would all join Satan and his angels in the lake of fire as John described it, if it weren't for the mercy and grace of my Creators. And what a fantastic revelation this will be when God forgives Satan and gives him a seat to His left. Not one created being will miss out on their Creators...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

It's pretty simple hey sister. We live by the Spirit as born again believers in and followers of Christ. We follow our Shepherd as we hear Him communicate with us throughout each day. Spirit to spirit.

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

The earlier followers of Jesus were known to be unlearned, unskilled. Far from being professional prophets, teacher, apostles, pastors, evangelists, administrators, tongue speakers, interpreters. Those you mentioned above were simply servants of Christ and fellow children of His Father, our...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

We are added to Christ and His Spirit carries out tasks through us. It's pretty simple really. There is no hierarchy that I'm aware of. Maybe the closest is, the greatest will be the servant of all. I was engaged in conversation with someone just yesterday and we were encouraged by the Spirit...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

I'm not sure about you, but I get a bit weary of hearing and seeing people idolising those who contributed to the bibles. They were only human like us. Humans that God revealed Himself to and through, just like us. Maybe it's time to see who we are because of who God has made us into...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

This is a good question. And a challenging one for cessationalists. I don't know why they want to keep trying to find ways to stop God's Spirits work in and through the church. Is it that if they can't have the joy of experiencing the exercising of certain gifts then no one will. I feel sad...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

Yet it's been great to receive more and more of God's word beyond the bibles. We are blessed to have the privilege of continuing to receive and pass on His word to others. Isn't it amazing that His Spirit has never stopped revealing God's never ending word to us that's way beyond what is found...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

NKJV? I think I see where you are coming from. Yet indications are not necessarily facts or truths that one can have absolute certainty in. What do you mean by your use of the word 'indications'?

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

Thanks for sharing that. These days I don't try to extract much at all from others, including teachers, prophets or interpreted tongues. But praise Christ for using these means to lead His body into all truth.

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

My focus these days is more on what's up ahead, well what the resident Spirit has made known. Some was revealed to me through others and some direct. What a hope we have knowing that God the Creator will reconcile ALL of Their creations to Themselves in time, in turn. No more struggling...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

For me God's Spirit communicates to me through pictures (parables) and visions. I guess I have committed a lot of the bible to memory and more importantly, memories of how the Spirit and I have lived out what He has revealed through these various means.

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

Out of interest, which is the full bible? There has been a 11 book biblical canon through to a 88 book bible with many variations in between. Yes, these have been ways God has communicated with His creation. Obviously not exclusively by the prophets and by His Son. Yes, a little of His Son's...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

When my wife communicates with me I don't need a standard or a third party or medium or interpreter to know its her and what it is she is saying to me. It's up to her to ensure I've understood her. Likewise, in the relationship with the Spirit, I know Him and I know when He's communicating...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

You have read, “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And... The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

That's exactly what has happened in the past. God spoke to Moses. God spoke to David. God spoke to Jeremiah, Isaiah, Joel, Peter, Paul and hasn't stopped giving dreams, vision, prophesies, tongues, interpretation of tongues, revelations to John, Daniel the ability to interpret dreams. God...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

And could I add, the words of God expressed through humans, written down and have found their way into the bibles have been a great resource. It's like milk in one's diet. As a baby it was my only source of sustinance that nourished me and kept me alive. But over time solid food was added to...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

Sure. I can relate to you. I made the bible a big book, not reading anything else for years. It became everything. After the Spirit revealed that it had become too big to me, in fact an idol, I repented of it. Since then the Spirit has been communicating with me directly and occasionally...
