"Christians don't know what they believe." - until they are brainwashed

So, yes, you are missing the point. As you can see here: Acts 15:1 Now some men came down from Judea and began to teach the brothers: “Unless you get circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.” 2 But after quite a bit of dissension and disputing by Paul and Barnabas...

"Christians don't know what they believe." - until they are brainwashed

Since I am a Jehovah's Witness I don't think I am missing any point, but you are. :) Tell me something: Do you think that 49 AD Christians had "a steward" who decided what those who became Christians should believe and practice, or do you think they did not have one? A clue: Acts 15:1 Now...

Some "Jesus mysteries" that always fascinate me

Bible skeptics are looking for something they want to call "historical Jesus," which they can't seem to find in biblical Christian writings. What would be that "historical Jesus" that you want to have? One that doesn't work miracles? ... more credible to unbelievers? to whom the entities of the...

Bible was never written to you

You call it institution. I call it: one people that thinks as one. :) The Bible describes that this way: 1 Cor. 1:10 Now I urge you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you should all speak in agreement and that there should be no divisions among you, but that you may be...

Some "Jesus mysteries" that always fascinate me

Everyone knows that Christianity extends its roots back to the very first century in which Jesus lived. Christian congregations did not appear a century after Jesus died, but were already created just a few months after his death. By the end of the first century there was already an...

Bible was never written to you

@marks I am very pleased that you agree with us, Jehovah's Witnesses, on this important issue. If we did not have the Scriptures: how could we distinguish faith supported by facts and blind credulity, between apostate teachings and Christian teachings, between pagan religious practices and...

"Christians don't know what they believe." - until they are brainwashed

Jesus made a related question: Matt. 24:45 “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Happy is that slave if his master on coming finds him doing so! 47 Truly I say to you, he will appoint him over...

Bible was never written to you

2 Tim. 3:16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work. That text clearly states that to "set things straight"...

Bible was never written to you

Probably because I am a Jehovah's Witness, I cannot conceive of any servant of God or true Christian who would not wish to acquire all his knowledge from the Bible as its most direct source. There can be no discernment about right or wrong without the Word of God. Even Jesus himself considered...

Is Lying a Violation of the Ten Commandments? - No. - Well, maybe... ???

A true Christian does not lie under any circumstances. There could be a situation in which it seems that lying is the only way out... Obviously, this is how all the temptations to which Christians are subjected work. Our human weaknesses and the evil spirits that surround us and this world...

Some "Jesus mysteries" that always fascinate me

Jesus was a spiritual teacher. Although some details of his life before baptism are touched on in the Scriptures, about his life, the three years after baptism until his death and resurrection, are the most important to our faith... and for that reason God made these accounts of his teachings...

Is Lying a Violation of the Ten Commandments? - No. - Well, maybe... ???

I share what the Bible says. 1 Cor. 6:9 Or do you not know that unrighteous people will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Do not be misled. Those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who submit to homosexual acts, men who practice homosexuality, 10 thieves, greedy people, drunkards...

Thanks for sharing what you believe. Have a good day. :)

Why did Jesus not say explicitly that he was God in the Gospels?

Agree. Imagine thinking: one equals three, beginning means forever, firstborn means eternal, dead is alive somewhere else, first is chief, ... etc. Those are signs of a broken mind.

Is Lying a Violation of the Ten Commandments? - No. - Well, maybe... ???

That's not what He says ... it is what you say. He says: Is. 43:10 “You are my witnesses,” declares Jehovah, “Yes, my servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and have faith in me And understand that I am the same One. Before me no God was formed, And after me there has been none. Do...

Is Lying a Violation of the Ten Commandments? - No. - Well, maybe... ???

That is your own idea of Him. But He says: Mal. 3:6 “For I am Jehovah; I do not change. (...)"

Is Lying a Violation of the Ten Commandments? - No. - Well, maybe... ???

The Christian Scriptures are full of principles that every Christian should follow in their lives. They also clearly say that those who practice certain behaviors will not receive God's approval. Do you think Christians don't have principles that are inviolable?

Is Lying a Violation of the Ten Commandments? - No. - Well, maybe... ???

Any statute that reflects the identity of God is universal. The identity of God does not change due to the simple fact that the law of Moses ceased to be applicable as a legal norm for Christians.

Is Lying a Violation of the Ten Commandments? - No. - Well, maybe... ???

Again: all the principles applied in the law of Moses are applicable to Christians. Do you know the difference between principle and law?

Why did Jesus not say explicitly that he was God in the Gospels?

Consider this: If Jesus has someone he calls GOD (Rev. 3:12; John 20:17), then he cannot be in the Supreme position of the Universe. Likewise, if Jesus was exalted to a position that he did not have before (Phil. 2:9; Eph. 1:20,21), it is because that One who exalted him is superior to him...
