Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

All people everywhere are getting swayed by beliefs. I'm saying some beliefs promote health, family, community, and fulfillment more than others. Scripture is the belief that promotes this but due to modern values and the erasure of gender roles, key verses are being ignored. Including the...

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

Biblical patriarchy is. In the context of marriage, Ephesians 5 calls men to honor their wives and be willing to lay down their lives for them. Wives are to obey their husbands and have reverence for them. This is also patriarchy. Male leadership is just them taking responsibility for the well...

    Biblical Marriage Mashup

Love, Honor, And Respect Are Gifts "The way a husband treats his wife is an indicator of the depth of his love, respect and reverence for God. A husband’s love for his wife is gift to her that springs from his love, obedience and reverence for Christ. A wife cannot force her husband to obey God...

Should A Wife Submit When Her Husband Isn't Godly?

In the early years of my marriage, my husband was a new Christian with some very bad behaviour patterns. However, my responses to this, I think I'll always regret to some degree. My responses and willingness to separate for months at a time revealed how I wasn't fully invested in the marriage...

Should A Wife Submit When Her Husband Isn't Godly?

A Wife's Beautiful Response To Her Husband's drug addiction "But as someone going through an extreme situation, I’d like to say God’s Word and commands for us as wives still apply (maybe in a slightly different form, but they still apply), and your posts are still an incredible blessing! My...

The Culture Devalued Home and So Did I

Love this. I'd sacrifice vacations for a life I don't need a vacation from! I feel like we all need to live our lives at a pace and in a way that gives breathing room.

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

What's ironic is that I have way more control over my life as a housewife than I ever did doing an egalitarian style marriage where I tried to also advance my career. I control how many hours I work in a day. I can blast the music I want. I actually do get paid. I live essentially bill...

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

It's true that patriarchy defined what women should do just like it defines what men should and shouldn't do. What I'm saying is that what feminists define as liberation is bondage in the eyes of God. Scripture also tells men and women what they should do. Feminists may not all think the same...

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

Yet feminists have had plenty to say on what women and women in relationship should and shouldn't be doing. There is no neutral opinionless zone in the culture. Not one person ever suggested Id be happy as a homemaker or even that I didn't need college education to be a happy successful adult.

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

What do you mean by "keeping a woman down exactly"? Im saying that is a modern interpretation of gender roles and that doesn't line up with most men and women of the past. Were women just disrespected as workers before feminism? I need proof. I plan on doing a deep dive into women's lives in...

Should A Wife Submit When Her Husband Isn't Godly?

I agree. Just being silent and robotic is not helpful. You don't want to sacrifice your contribution to just act like a limp ragdoll, even as you try to be respectful.

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

I'm not sure you need feminism for this. In the past, women did work heavy labor jobs if their husbands needed it to survive. They worked these horrible cotton mills during the Industrial Revolution, for example. Small children did too. But the fact that men did not see this as ideal was not...

Before marriage- what was your guys dealbreakers?

The willingness to defend her is reassuring and does you credit. In a marriage, this promotes unity. The fact that you view marriage as a way to move forward with purpose in your life and not a search for a perfect person is a great way to see things. She wavered in her resolve with the ring...

Before marriage- what was your guys dealbreakers?

This is what I was looking for. Its okay to have flaws and not be this perfect relationship candidate if you are willing to work on yourself. I certainly wasn't.

    How was your day?

Things seemed to be in a gridlock for multiple years. I felt stuck in an undesirable living location. God told us to wait. It was tough at times. Now things seem to be moving fairly quickly in terms of being able to move, change work, and things are clicking into place.

    How was your day?

Baby was very upset tonight. I used whatever encouraging song I could to calm me and her, treated her skin, and she fell asleep in my arms. My husband could see I was overwhelmed this past evening. Im grateful for the ways he helped me with food and with Naomi.

    Late night thread 2

Odd how things feel the worse before they get better. We got some good news about a trucking job my husband interviewed for. God willing, this means a lot of things can move forward. God deserves the glory. He got us through some really hard financial times.
