The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

I am not a mind reader but if you reject the Word of God (in certain places) there is a reason or motivation behind why you are doing so. You have my apologies if my claim does not fit what your actual motivations are. But again, rejecting the Word of God (in certain places) stems from something...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

It is best not to go beyond what is written (1 Corinthians 1:10) (2 Corinthians 4:13). The Bible says we need to be born again to enter the Kingdom. But In Luke 15 in the parable of the prodigal son: We learn that when the son came home from his prodigal life and sought forgiveness with his...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Right now you have a mindset that you can sin and still be saved because you said that a person who sins cannot be unborn (i.e. they cannot lose their salvation). But there are plenty of warnings by our Lord that can sin can separate our soul from God - See again Matthew 5:28-30, Matthew 6:15...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

You totally bypassed the context again. Ephesians 4:17-20 17 “This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Again, if you have the mindset that you don’t lose salvation by sin and you think Paul struggled with sin and was saved in Romans 7:14-24, then you will defend the wrong interpretation on thinking one can sin and still be saved on some level (not habitual sin). If you wish things were truly...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Paul is not referring to not knowing about certain sins in 1 Corinthians 4:1-5. 1 Corinthians 4:1-5 (NKJV) 1 “Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. 3 But with me it is a very...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Remember the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked (See: Jeremiah 17:9). Romans 7:14-24 is used as an excuse to sin by many Christians today and they do so at the expense of ignoring or twisting other verses in Scripture that teaches you can overcome sin (1 Peter 4:1-2, 2 Corinthians 7:1...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Why are you looking to me or another person? Is that how you build your faith? The Bible says we walk by faith and not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 ”For we walk by faith, not by sight” Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). So if you are to build your faith, then...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

When one uses 1 John 1:8 as an excuse to be a slave to sin (when that is not what it is saying) it is to justify sin. The same is true when Christians use Romans 7:14-24 as an excuse to sin on some level. To say one is not sinless means one is not seeking to be that way and thereby they are...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

But you are not departing from iniquity because you believe you will always be in iniquity (sin) because of a false interpretation on 1 John 1:8. Jesus said to two people to “sin no more.” (John 5:14) (John 8:11). Do you believe Jesus when He said these words? Peter said he that has suffered...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

2 Timothy 2:19 ”Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

    I don't understand Romans 9 anymore

Why would you think that it doesn’t support my belief? What Scripture undoes the ones I posted or explains it better?

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Isaiah 45:7 says, ”I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.” So do you believe God creates evil by our modern understanding on that word? Meaning, did God just create the devil out of thin air with him being evil to begin with and or...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

First, does the context support your interpretation? Second, does the rest of the Bible support your interpretation? Three, does the epistle of John as a whole support your interpretation? Four, 1 John 1:8 does mean what it says but it depends on how you read it (of which I will explain...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

What is helpful in understanding 1 John 1:8 is looking at its immediate context. 1 John 1:10 says if we say we have not sinned. 1 John 1:10 switches gears from 1 John 1:8 in regards to time; John talks about the declaration on committing sin in verse 8 (which is present tense) to a declaration...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Proverbs 30:20 says: “Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.” Isaiah 5:20 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Then you have a contradiction in the Bible. This is not possible. Think. Can God agree with your sin? If you take the “we must sin” interpretation, then you contradicted toms of verses in the Bible and you have buried your moral compass. But there is hope. Isaiah 55:7 “Let the...

    I don't understand Romans 9 anymore

When the conversation lowers itself to individual name calling it really is sad indeed. While I am wishing you nothing but good things to you Jesus Christ, I believe I must move on from talking with you (as a result of this). In any event, may the Lord’s goodness shine upon you.

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Every Christian has sinned as a part of their old life. Grace is what can wipe out their past sins. Believers can even stumble on occasion on their road to recovery in overcoming sin in this life. A drunk can overcome his demon in the bottle by a drug program even. Can he stumble on his...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

@marks You believe you don’t lose salvation if you sin. But Paul says, “Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid.” (Romans 6:1-2) (KJB). So you are saying grace still abounds even if you continue in sin (on some level) because you don’t believe sin separates you from God.
