    How was your day?

Sorry to hear that. I have a friend from Scotland. She used to explain some politics for me.

Filthy Rags versus Fine Linen Bright and Clean

I don't see imperfect and sinful as the same. We do have lowly bodies. But that does not mean we are sinners by default till the resurrection. I define sin as transgression of the law.

Filthy Rags versus Fine Linen Bright and Clean

I think, if we make our decisions with the clear conscience from faith, were walking in the light and the blood of Jesus does cleanse us from all sin. (1 John 1 maybe?) I don't believe we can go without making mistakes or misjudging. But if we do our actions from faith---we are then justified...

What do you think about this?

Honestly, Im not sure. Id have to be more familiar with the game. Keeping your conscience clear is important but it sounds like you're doing that already

Filthy Rags versus Fine Linen Bright and Clean

Sorry if these are rhetorical questions but here goes... We stop sinning by continuing in the Word until it sets us free, and walking in love. We transform our minds by setting our minds on things above at all times. We can also just think about positive things like Phillipians 4:8 says...

Filthy Rags versus Fine Linen Bright and Clean

How do you define sin? I feel like people are unclear about what it is. And if Im confused, Im open to being corrected, provided it's with Scripture in good context.

Filthy Rags versus Fine Linen Bright and Clean

It's not an indication for or against a belief if I personally do not practice it. If Jesus said it, I have faith it's doable. Personally I think we conflate just existing with sinning. As if just sleeping or eating or typing forum responses is somehow sinful. Any Christian can stop sinning...

Filthy Rags versus Fine Linen Bright and Clean

Its always possible to sin but not inevitable. (2 Peter 1:1-11, 1 Peter 4:1, Galatians 5:16) I think we put early disciples on too high a pedestal sometimes.

Filthy Rags versus Fine Linen Bright and Clean

Thanks, and yes, yes I do! I think you are doing a way better job than I can and Im really grateful! The explanation I got was that Christians should be growing in their faith and getting more obedient gradually but that we can never stop sinning in this lifetime. I don't believe this...

    I'm having a good day!

Can I save this and use this explanation, giving credit? This is one of the most helpful breakdowns of walking by faith Ive seen on here.

:) The wedding garment! We don't want to get kicked out the Wedding! Matthew 22:11-14 11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was...

Leaders That Don't Support Good Works or Overcoming Sin

In Christ to me means you have your mind made up to obey Christ at all times without a break to "do your own thing". Your tongue belongs to Jesus, so you use it to edify. Your time isn't yours---every day is worship Jesus day. Your mind isn't yours---you fill it with Bible and cut out wordly...

Leaders That Don't Support Good Works or Overcoming Sin

Ill take a risk here...I learned so many things about obeying Jesus from Scripture---keeping busy at home for my family, meeting people's needs for food and help as Im able, staying in the Bible, prayer, nit complaining at all etc... By the time I am learning to do all that, I simply didn't...

Leaders That Don't Support Good Works or Overcoming Sin

Yes. Im thinking of 1 John. 1 John 3:17-19 17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth...

Leaders That Don't Support Good Works or Overcoming Sin

You know people who read the bible over and over? Im sincerely happy. God can definitely drop peoples sins overnight. But for most people its a long process where we have to continue sowing to the Spirit. My problem is that when we don't believe Jesus and believe all the folks telling us we...
