    Church Bashing

When the church you attend encourages your wife to divorce despite not being unequally yoked then there is a problem in the church. when the church you attend houses pedophiles who abuse children then there is a problem in the church. When the church you attend casts out the poor and ones who do...

Do We Believe Everything Jesus Said?

And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Mark 9:24 We alll struggle with unbelief, and full reliance on the providence of God, a Humble heart will acknowledge his or her unbelief as this father did in the scripture above...

    Being a Servant Leader

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 I don't think we as a church have done a very good job of this especially in the western world.

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

It depends on how you read it. This parable spans millennia, the early part speaking of Israel who were bidden to the feast and would not come, (Matthew 22:3, 22:7 speaking of the destruction of Jerusalem) to the extension of that invitation to the gentiles (The church). The king has sent his...

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

But in Revelation 19 there is the bride, and those invited by the bride to the wedding supper, and the bride is clothed with the righteousness of the saints. No offence but your theory fails to explain who these are.

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

In the parable Jesus spoke, the one who is cast into outer darkness is the one who invited the unworthy to the wedding.... Think about that. Are we as a church doing this by denying the need to cloth ourselves rightly and choosing to live in complacency thinking we are rich and in need of nothing?

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

I see you are from England, are you an Anglican? It would be nice to have this perspective here as this is one of the few Protestant churches that still believes the saints are distinct from the faithful. Good comment. God bless

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

A new convert who then dies within days of his salvation is not going to add to his faith any of the qualities Peter spoke about in 2 Peter 1:5-9, yet he is still on the same path he did not get very far in the time he was given. What is worse is when complacency slips into the Christian life...

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

@Episkopos is referring to the wedding in Revelation 19 of the bride. There are those who are the bride and those invited to the feast by the bride. The bride is clothed with the righteousness of the saints. Much of the church in this Laodicean age thinks they are rich spiritually, but they are...

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

Caste Christianity? We are all on the path to sainthood (holiness), God chooses who becomes saints, not men.... this is not a Caste system this is Christianity. A saint is a position of service and sacrificial love not self-exaltation and self-glorification and this is where your understanding...

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

Saints in general are chosen and sent. Faith comes by hearing and receiving. ALL believers are on the road to Holiness, few are chosen to finish the race and become saints and sent out to be a testimony (Martyria). We all must abide in the vine to be fruitful. Many are called, few are chosen...

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

The verses in question are speaking of the Apostles and their ordination as Apostles, and that they would write scripture. Read John 15:16 in its full context. They were chosen of God and sent ones (meaning of Apostle) and they lived lives as saints. The faithful come to faith by hearing the...

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

We are all on the same journey to sainthood, all believers. God just chooses who will be used as that saintly sacrifice. Forgiveness is one of those things we grow in just like Love. we are vessels that God fills and then we extend that Love mercy, or forgiveness to others around us. When we...

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

It's all good, I Just have a lot of reading to do. I Know that something that is so ingrained in the teaching of the church is going to take a lot of time and discussion to convince otherwise, and there will always be die hard traditionalists who will resist this. I Ask all to consider a...

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

I Asked @marks on the first page of this post: "Show me the scripture that supports all believers are saints. This is not about two "classes" of Christians, But of God's sovereign election of who he wishes to use as a saint." He has yet to answer this question. The fact is scripture is...

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

To use The Apostle John's words, it is God's love being perfected in us, It is us learning to love like Christ loved us (Jesus' "new commandment") by laying down His life for us. It is more than just brotherly love, but sacrificial love. "Not my will but thine be done" as Jesus prayed in...

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

Agape love is the final step of our sanctification as per the lit in 2 Peter 1:5-9. They are the ones who take up the cross and follow Christ, Just as Christ laid down his life for us saints do the same for others as a testimony of the work of the Holy Spirit in them.

The faithful and the saints: Bringing Calvinism and Arminianism together.

As it sits right now this is true, But with rightly delineating between the faithful and the saints this would resolve itself.
