Is the Logos meaningful, or meaningless? - Depends on your view of Logos.

I thought you might bring that up. Jesus, as the Logos, created: all things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. [

Is the Logos meaningful, or meaningless? - Depends on your view of Logos.

I would say, yes. The Logos/logic/reason/plan/meaning is still in force today. More like, was the twinkle in my father's eye SteVen before SteVen was born? [

Is the Logos meaningful, or meaningless? - Depends on your view of Logos.

Agree. But it seems to me that you can't go backwards. I object to the idea that Jesus was God before the Logos became flesh. LOL Maybe you will have the opportunity at some point. [

Genesis as allegory? - History versus allegory

That's debatable, I guess. I used to believe that. But there are many challenges to that premise. - Errors in lineage of Christ ??? - Moses existence (and Exodus account) not supported by history and archeology ...

Is the Logos meaningful, or meaningless? - Depends on your view of Logos.

The Logos of God 1) The Logos was from the beginning. 2) The Logos was with God. 3) The Logos was God. 4) The Logos became flesh. (and dwelt among us) [

Observations about the law, the Law, God's law, Christ's law - four different things

The law, God's law, Christ's law; three different things. The Apostle differentiates between each one. Three different things. He says he is not under the law, though he is not free from God's law, but is under Christ's law. Three different things. See verse 21, 1 Corinthians 9:19-22 NIV...

Eternal Torment Or Annihilation? What Happens To The Wicked

I liked your testimony. (as per my post rating for you) Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm not "speaking against The Lord". However I do speak against Christian religion. Which some are offended by. You seem to be in that group. [

Commanded to love God more than we love ourselves?

No. In fact I model that in life. [

Commanded to love God more than we love ourselves?

Thinking about the Greatest Commandment question posed to Jesus and the two great commands of Christ in response. All three synoptic gospels render the (mis)quote from Deuteronomy differently. Which raises its own set of questions. Anyone that has worked through that, please weigh in to...

DECONSTRUCTION - How far is too far?

Right. The questions (doubts) are the catalyst. [

Genesis as allegory? - History versus allegory

If I recited the story of The Little Boy Who cried "Wolf", would that make it a true story? Or only the retelling of a fable? Did the Apostle substantiate this fable by mentioning it here? 1 Corinthians 10:3-4 NIV They all ate the same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink...

Genesis as allegory? - History versus allegory

Question about Genesis: - Literal, or figurative? - Fact, or allegory? - Supports, or refutes science? - Supports, or refutes archeology? - Supports, or refutes history? [

DECONSTRUCTION - How far is too far?

I think this idea that some are unwilling to be saved is false. It's not salvation that is being refused. https://www.christianityboard.com/threads/is-the-free-gift-of-salvation-really-free-honestly.56528/ --- PARODY --- Person #1: Receive the free gift of eternal life. Person #2: No...

DECONSTRUCTION - How far is too far?

So... Good works = genuine confession? Couldn't good works come from a false confession? Motivated by fear, perhaps? [

DECONSTRUCTION - How far is too far?

    The happy thread

Cannibal jokes? Viewer discretion advised. Two cannibals were eating a clown. One turns to the other and asks, "Does this taste funny to you?" Same two cannibals were eating a jazz musician. One turns to the other and asks, "Does this taste funky to you?" [

DECONSTRUCTION - How far is too far?

DECONSTRUCTION is about re-evaluating our religious upbringing. Long before this term emerged, Catholics were converting to Protestantism, and vice versa. In fact, a person coming to Christ in this life deconstructs from their previous life. DECONSTRUCTION is not the enemy, except to those who...
