    Praying in the Spirit

Hmm, interesting perspective...I have had only one prayer my whole life not answered... and that had interference, so to speak, haha...an atheist husband telling, supporting, encouraging the belief in my friend that she was, indeed, going to die from her ALS... thus, canceling , blocking any...

    Praying in the Spirit

Well! What a fabulous thread...Prayer! The Will of God....alright! I will have more to say when it's not Thanksgiving day, I bet...but to ans the last question, at least...''How do we know what is the will of God?'' Simply put, but I can say way more to explain, ha...anything that is for good...

Are Beliefs and Faith the Same?

Oh, I'm sorry I wasn't clear... What stops 'anyone' from healing, healing with prayer, praying for healing, laying on of hands or faith healing ....(whatever name one calls it), being an intercessor for the Holy Spirit...calling forth healing? Like, going into the ICU, when asked, of a friend...

Need some help on this verse...binding things on earth

New little confusion, need help with....from the Prayer forum....Healing in Jesus' Name. "We bind every abnormality and sickness that is trying to make a home in the body of those listening." I would think that abnormality and sickness should be loosed! Oy....will I ever really get this verse?!

Are Beliefs and Faith the Same?

Well, I'm not Benny...and a lot of other healers aren't, you can tell the difference because we are all poorer! Added later: What stops you? You are a Christian, right? I haven't been here long enuf to know everyone. I'm not challenging your faith...in fact, don't ans me...it's a rhetorical...

Are Beliefs and Faith the Same?

Exactly. And this is why I am a healer... (an easy way to say the Holy Spirit does all the work and I just basically stand there...hahahaha)...and I believe every single Christian 'should' be...I don't usually use 'should sentences'. Ya gotta put your money where your mouth is, so to speak...

    That was very astute.

Are Beliefs and Faith the Same?

Oh...and that was my point...action was not worthless....he didn't have to 'believe or have any faith' at all! He could be just filled with simple childlike curiosity...food smelled good he was hungry ..."Let's try this..." We probably agree on faith and belief...just not this particular...

Are Beliefs and Faith the Same?

I see the food scenario differently... Sounds to me action would fill his tummy. (Even if he was full of doubt). So seeing for himself after taking action would eliminate a need for faith or belief...all he needed to lift the fork was curiousity and wonderment. From my viewpoint.

Are Beliefs and Faith the Same?

Re Thomas, a side note of mine... Remember Jesus said those that have not seen and yet have faith are blessed. Yes, indeed, of course. BUT, there is nothing wrong with actually seeing something for yourself. Ha! In fact, I ask people to please see things for themselves, don't believe anything...

Are Beliefs and Faith the Same?

It took me a year to understand the difference between faith and belief. Here is my example: One can have the faith can move mountains. I mean, they love God, know that God can do a-n-ything, they know God loves them and can heal them...it's even beyond faith. BUT, if they're core belief is...

Need some help on this verse...binding things on earth

And if you hang onto an offense to you, then Christ has judged against the offender, and they are condemned. 'hmm' .................. I hope this sentence gets addressed, also.

Need some help on this verse...binding things on earth

Well, if God has forgiven us...who am I to say, "Um...No. I'm going to keep my shame and keep beating myself up over my mistake. Thank You for Your forgiveness, tho...but I'll pass...because I want to hang out in my reveling in misery, guilt and shame." Our guilt is a major factor in what keeps...

Need some help on this verse...binding things on earth

Thank you all...I probably should have asked ...in defining what it means could you use synonyms to bind and loosed...Let me see if I have this right, because if I do it is an easy verse... So if I let go of an offense to me...in Heaven it will be let go of...like, it will be forgotten and gone...

Anyone think what the word "spiritual" REALLY means?

So many will fill out a form...the dating ones come to mind... they will say, 'spiritual, not religious'... I'm thinking this is what the op's question is about.(?) I believe that means that tho they do not go along with organized religions/denominations ... they are aware of 'spiritual things'...

Need some help on this verse...binding things on earth

Matthew 18:18,19 - "Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven." I have read diff explanations but I still don't get what it means, exactly.
