    Let's discuss commentaries.

    My own truth? No thanks.

    Let's discuss commentaries.

I told you I don't read commentary(including Westley), but only the Bible. Nothing, nada, nyet.

    Let's discuss commentaries.

I cannot read 1st century Greek, nor can you or anyone else. You must hope and pray your predecessors could. The KJV translators could, though.

    Let's discuss commentaries.

I just think commentaries are about 50% correct. Not enough for my scriptural taste buds to ingest.
  5. Truther

    Let's discuss commentaries.

Can you imagine a modern commentator standing with Peter at Pentecost as he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of their sins(..."what Peter really means is...")....LOL. Well, they hacked Peter up in modern times alright!

    Let's discuss commentaries.

I had to toss commentary as I gradually understood the Bible, clearer. The commentaries only taught me to presuppose ideas, not rightly divide the word. There was no commentary for the early church, but only the refreshing word of God.

    Let's discuss commentaries.

None of them. They are biased. Your Bible is it's own commentary.

    Is baptismal regeneration…

17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Everyone say "all"! Okay, baptism is BOTH word and deed.

    Is baptismal regeneration…

I guess some folks have to be not only led to water, but forced to drink it. The command by Jesus and the Apostles is to baptize in Matt 28:19, Mark 16:16 and Acts 2:38, 8, 10 and 19. Still, some say, "prove it!"....LOL. Face it, you are not one of these folks.... 15 And to this agree the...

    Is baptismal regeneration…

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, as per the next...

    Is baptismal regeneration…

Some think that by just saying “the son”, they are saying Jesus. But the fact is, when we say “Jesus”, we are speaking of the son. Catholics and her daughters all have it wrong and backwards.

    Is baptismal regeneration…

Water baptism In the name of Jesus Christ is both word and deed. It is Col 3:17 in action. A person cannot just think the name of Jesus and not speak it. We are condemned or justified by our words and acts. Not by our thoughts.

    Is baptismal regeneration…

Some folks' lifetime labor is to keep the name of Jesus completely out of baptism. What a bizarre calling.
  14. Truther

    Is baptismal regeneration…

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. ...except baptize? Is that your stance? Baptism is not word, nor deed? Acts 2:38, 8, 10 and 19 baptisms in the name of Jesus are not word or deed but a scriptural mirage...
  15. Truther

    Is baptismal regeneration…

No, regeneration is 2 part... And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. As per... 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized(WASHED) every one of you in the name of...

    Is baptismal regeneration…

The name of Jesus while in the water symbolizes/regenerates. Symbolization is not turning water into blood. Neither does the sacrifice turn into Christ.

    The Devil's Ministers

Acts 2:38 is a gift and Grace.

    The Devil's Ministers

Have a great day, you too.
  19. Truther

    The Devil's Ministers

So, who expects us to not verbally say Jesus' name via word and deed(baptism is both word and deed)?.... A...Devil. B....Jesus.
  20. Truther

    The Devil's Ministers

Yes, you must believe that the name of Jesus has the authority to remit our sins as you are immersed in water in his name as it is verbally pronounced over you.
