    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

The above verses have nothing to do with the reformed faith. All Christians believe we're joined to God in a spiritual way.... It certainly isn't physical, right? Please stick to the subject or post your spiritual verses on a different thread. Thanks.

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

What a wonderful story. You both have Jesus in common. Lovely. HOW did you come to know Jesus? HOW did you decide to follow Him? And if you did NOT decide to follow Him, HOW do you know you're really saved?

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

You like to carpet bomb. Conversations don't work that way. Show me ONE VERSE or two where it's stated that you must be born again FIRST and THEN you get faith. Your verses on the spirit mean absolutely nothing to this thread. If you believe Calvinism to be biblical, you're going to have to...

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

Absolutely re God's character. and a big AMEN to the rest of your post.

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

Ephesians 2:8 is an interesting verse.... On the one hand it proves that we have been saved through faith... so faith must come before salvation. And, yes, the reformed just don't see this. But then, they'll use it to show that faith is a gift. Well, actually faith is a gift.... It's something...

Bruce, I'm going to tag you into the Reformed thread I started.... and will reply to you there.

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

The reformed Ordo Salutis is not consistent with scripture. You can go through Eph 2, for instance, word for word, grammatically or however else - using different verses for support - but it just won't sink in. This goes way beyond the discussions we could have when exegeting a verse in one way...

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

Of course there's a difference. Calvinism is a CAUSE....God causes a person to be saved. Mainline Christianity is a MEANS.... Jesus is the means of our salvation.... If we so desire it and choose it. With the help of God's grace of course....available to all: Ephesians 2:8 8For by grace you...

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

It's not a war of words SavedInHim. I was a Christian many years before I learned of the reformed faith/Calvinism. When I did learn about it, I was rather horrified that anyone could believe in this God of theirs. So I studied and for many years now I've been willing to engage in this...

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

Agree on the above. Every Christian denomination believes that God is sovereign. Calvinism does not have a stronghold on this idea. Man's will is damaged by the sin nature and he cannot please God until he is born again. OK. But the above have nothing to do with Calvinism and everything to do...

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

OK The above is correct. Will have to leave the rest for when I get back.

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

BTW, SavedInHim You should listen to everything and then make up your mind. Catholics don't have everything wrong and Protestants don't have everything right.

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

What makes you think I'm Roman Catholic? Because I'm Protestant. Christian Soldier is also Protestant... but of the reformed faith. Only the reformed believe what they believe.

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

No Lambano I don't see the difference. If it's faith in Jesus that saves.... then it can't also be GOD PREDESTINATING me to salvation. It's one or the other. In Calvinism FAITH IN JESUS does NOT save a person. GOD CHOOSING that person is what saves him. If God MAKES US have faith then HE...

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

You will know them by their fruits is wonderful. JWs are the nicest and most loving persons I know. Are they even Christian? You will know them by their fruits is not enough. Look at the posts of @Ritajanice .... she makes Calvinism sound so nice.... but it does change the character of God...

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

Wow! You don't even understand what Calvinism teaches! Calvin DID NOT teach that salvation is through faith in Jesus. This would be what ALL OTHER denominations teach EXCEPT for the reformed. Calvinism teaches that God will choose who is saved and who is not. It has NOTHING to do with faith...

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

Sorry Windmill.... I wouldn't say it's Protestant theology. Luther and Knox and Calvin are definitely of the Protestant persuasion... however, all other denominations of the Protestant theology have left this unbiblical belief system behind.

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

Reformed theology, also known as Calvinism, is a theological belief system based on two primary premises: 1. Man has no free will. 2. Man is born so depraved as to be unable to reach out for God. The above thus makes the following necessary: God has to predetermine who will be saved and who...

    Biblical Authority

Oh. I'd be more than happy to reply. But I'm not sure of how this forum is moderated as to derailments. I'd like to ask @JohnDB if it's OK to reply to you or if we should move this to a thread I started yesterday in the theology section titled: Is The Reformed Faith Biblical? Later...

    Biblical Authority

Problem is: We're not supposed to be divided this way... It's not what Jesus wanted. I won't post any verses unless you care to discuss. If it's the Holy Spirit that is guiding.... why don't we all agree? This is my current problem facing Christianity, as I see it.
