    One last question!

    Define "evil"...

    One last question!

O.k. Thanks. I don't keep up with Buddhism, but I "dabbled" in it for a bit a few years ago. I DO have an issue with this: Wanting water and food to me is a need, rather than a want. Perhaps in some cases, want breeds need?

    One last question!

I think it's more than that, and I think Jesus preached more than that. The desire to murder, steal, covet, commit adultery, starts in the heart. Our own PRIDE...our own feelings of how we "deserve" this or that, and how we're more important than someone else is what causes us to act out by...

    One last question!

We can. And some of us do. You've received a LOT of good advice throughout your posts. Have you taken any of it? Or are you simply going to rely on what ONE pastor tells you? God DOES communicate with mankind, mostly through His LIVING WORD. YOU are the one who's saying that it's...

    One last question!

I like what you wrote here, Behold. And while I agree with most of it, I think that Buddha doesn't teach us to not want anything, but rather to not be so 'attached' to our wants, so that our wants get out of control (a.k.a. lust). I've seen/read many a story about some who are so miserable...

    What's the scoop?

Good post, John. I've been thinking about this thread since it was first posted. In a nutshell, it seems that the OP went to a Baptist church, said the "sinner's prayer" with a pastor, and the pastor then told him, that he was 'saved', and to not listen to anyone else who would say...

    So much for forgiveness...

    gay christians?

And where is THAT in scripture? NOWHERE. Judgement is ONLY left to GOD. How about common sense...FROM the Holy Spirit? By the same token, lest we be so FULL of ourselves to believe that WE have ALL the answers...

    gay christians?

LOL! You REALLY think *you* are qualified to judge?

    gay christians?

While I can appreciate what you're saying, I don't agree... Vengeance is MINE, sayeth the Lord. It's not up to US to condemn, but to "love our enemies." It's not up to us to judge, but to leave judgment up to GOD. We are to "love others as ourselves."

    gay christians?

The heck with what *I* think. What does JESUS think? Just for example, what did Jesus tell us about forgiveness? And I'll paraphrase, but if "we don't forgive others, God won't forgive US". And where do we end up if we don't forgive? Hint: We won't be forgiven! Could our unforgiveness be...

    gay christians?

No, it is not. It depends on the intention. You seem to believe that ALL 'works' are to get God's 'approval'. Yet, God sees our hearts. God knows whether we're performing 'works' in order to please Him, and to think that our works will 'guarantee' us a ticket to Heaven. You want the 'key'...

    Big Vatican Financial Scandal

In that case, get OFF your computer. There's nothing in the New Testament about computers. Sorry Robert, but your "logic" isn't logical.

    What's the scoop?

Apparently, you don't get what Jesus said. First 'rule of order' that Jesus preached was, "REPENT." He also says, (in so many words) that we have to keep HIS Commandments, and do the Will of his Father. You can't look at a bible verse or two and ignore the rest.

    What's the scoop?

YES! BIG difference between reciting or saying a prayer and actually praying a prayer.

Got any proof it's a false religion? For WHAT? The Pope testified against the Cardinal.

Why laws, Rules, Religion Promotes Hate for Others

Bible citation please... Bible citation please... ...which has NOTHING to do with 'faith ALONE.."

    What's your point?
  19. M

    What's the scoop?

The way some people teach it/believe it...YES.

    What's the scoop?

We CAN lose our salvation. Salvation is ONLY achieved through repentance. That is, turning away from sin in the first place. The initiation into Christianity is to recognize our sinful life...repent...ask for forgiveness...and live the life that Christ intends us to live... ...NOT to keep...
