    The Soul.

I think you had a reading comprehension problem with my post. Yes, we are souls. We have bodies. If the soul is annihilated upon physical death then men can indeed destroy a soul, making Christ is a liar.

    The Soul.

The scripture does teach that we are souls, however if you think that you no longer are a soul when your body dies (i.e. cessation of existence on physical death) then you are saying men have power to destroy the soul - in direct contradiction to Christ. So, clearly you misinterpret Genesis...

That's ridiculous. Where have I said any such thing?

    The Soul.

Jesus Christ God incarnate makes a firm and clear distinction between the death of the body and the cessation of the soul. we believe Him or we don't.

    The Soul.

It doesn't happen to say 'God of those who will later live again' but of 'the living' - present tense. That is exactly His point in context.

    The Soul.

no, Jesus says God is able to destroy the soul. that doesn't mean God necessarily destroys all souls, and Jesus specifically points out that physical death ((what men can do to you)) does not accomplish the destruction of the soul. only God can do this -- but does He? certainly not upon mere...

    The Soul.

well either you are wrong or Jesus is. He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive. (Luke 20:38)

Why were animals affected by the Fall?

i agree - but that was neither your point nor mine. you said you believe animals to have no faculty because they are primarily engaged in eating or being eaten: this is the same state as mankind, today. if your agree that they were not driven by kill-or-be-killed in the original creation, i...

Why were animals affected by the Fall?

according to scripture: "dumb" only in the sense of being unable to speak. not stupid -- that's what humans are. the Biblical definition of "stupid" is hating to be corrected ((Proverbs 12:1))

Why were animals affected by the Fall?

And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, "What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?" And Balaam said unto the ass, "Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee!" And the ass said unto...

Why were animals affected by the Fall?

try kicking an anthill and see if they don't get upset with you, understanding that you have mistreated them.

Why were animals affected by the Fall?

it is an image of Christ. the other living souls (("animals" we humanistically call them)) have no sin. yet they are given for our sustenance, for our clothing, and under the law for the remission of our sins. look at the first physical death recorded in scripture: God Himself took the skin of...

Don't call yourself a Christian when you live like the world.

this is clearly a joke. speak what is right. if you suffer condemnation for what you have done wrong, it is not glory. if you are falsely accused for Christ's sake, rejoice! but if you become bitter over persecution for true righteousness, what reward do you have? aren't you despising your...

Don't call yourself a Christian when you live like the world.

perhaps you ought to put Romans 4:11 together with Galatians 5:2 & Exodus 20:12 when you read Colossians 2:11 before you dare abuse Colossians 2:16-19 with any assumed air of authority again =]
