    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

I am just using Biblical arguments. That's why I don't really have a problem with the JWs. Is the fire eternal or is the punishment in hell eternal? Let's put it this way, the gospel is clear that only those who receive the gift of eternal life will live forever. Do you agree? Therefore, those...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Correct and Jesus was never worshipped as God, but bowed down to in honor. True worship is spirit and truth, not bowing. Jesus only taught Christians to worship the Father in spirit and truth, therefore Jesus was never worshipped as God. (John 4)

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

I am not a JW, but I do understand that those who just bow down are not actually worshipping in the way Jesus instructed them to. Bowing down with a heart far from God really means nothing. Does that make sense?

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

That doesn't mean Jesus is God either. When Jesus is bowed to in heaven, earth, or under earth he doesn't get any glory for it. The glory only goes to God who is the Father. Philippians 2 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

I would also add that the kind of bowing down to that God ordered His angels to give to the Son was for the glory of the Father (Philippians 2:10,11) but the kind of worship that Jesus taught Christians to give was of the order of "spirit and truth" to the Father only in John 4:23,24. So true...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

The Bible says God is immortal (1 Tim 1:17, 6:16) yet in what you quoted Jesus said he was dead. That would, in turn, based on that alone, mean that Jesus wasn't immortal and isn't God because immortal means someone can't die, ever. How does that expose a twisting of the scripture by JWs? The...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

The NWT isn't bad. I didn't like it many years ago because people kept telling me not to read it. I wondered what they were so afraid of. After studying the Bible for many years since then, I realized that the campaign to keep people from taking an honest look at the JWs was just propaganda...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Well, the same can be said of any group/publisher who interprets/translates the Bible to fit their sincere beliefs about what it's saying. May I have an example of the abuse you're referring to please.

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Well, the same could be said of anyone. Christianity is so divided on perspective that one person's heretic is another person's saint across the board.

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

As a body the JWs are more along the lines of being on the right track than the Catholics or Protestants. Someone wouldn't be wrong for joining the JWs, but as going as far as to say they are the definitive spokespeople for God, I don't know, but then again that would be a better question to ask...

    Why God forsake Jesus?

God sometimes leave people when they have sin. Not saying Jesus was a sinner, but the sins of the world were applied to Jesus. Isaiah53 6We all like sheep have gone astray, each one has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid upon Him the iniquity of us all.

The Character of God - Reader Poll

The character of God is He loves all people, but hates the sin. That's the simplest way to put I think. God has a high standard for what is righteous and He won't compromise on it. He is triggered easily by sin and what is genuinely evil. He may react angrily or He might do something. It...

If Hitler were to have repented for his sins before he died, would he have gone to Heaven?

He would have had a lot to sincerely repent for, but was it possible? Yes of course. Is it also possible a bad apple will always be a bad apple? Yes that's also possible.

    What is sin?

Paul said this curious statement, "Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I serve the law of God, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin."

    What is sin?

The only thing about the conscience is that while it seems more or less standardized across the board for people, it can vary from person to person, be changed, or be taken advantage of by manipulators. It would seem that even those who were already in the faith can be drawn away or mislead and...

    The Case for Eternal Security

I am a sola scriptura kind of Christian so I just go with what the Bible says about it being a bit of both. Judgement is based on works as the Bible says and as I quoted it here. From my perspective, we have already moved past that since I already proved such. Are you saying you're in...

    The Case for Eternal Security

Correct, it's a bit of both, but the example you provided would be a thought experiment, not the reality for most living people. The reality is we do have a will in our hearts and minds, for now, and the Bible is quite clear we need to do something with our mind and body. On the other hand...

    The Case for Eternal Security

It's a bit of both. Works of the heart, mind, hands, and feet. Matthew 25:31-46 is about the coming works-based judgement day that all will attend in order to be divided into two primary groups; sheep or goats. The sheep receive eternal life, the goats are destroyed. Those who do the will of...

    The Case for Eternal Security

I guess it's a bit of both. Think about the Good Samaritan. Isn't it one thing to wish someone the best, but then do nothing for them when it counts?

    What is sin?

This question is simple and I am interested in what people have to say, but first let me just define sin based on how John put it. 1 John 3 4Everyone who practices sin practices lawlessness as well. Indeed, sin is lawlessness. So sin is basically a transgression of a law. There are numerous...
